My vote goes for Haruhi. Beyond how I liked it, I just enjoy the characters a little more than Hyouka's, and the show still remains a stand-out to me for bringing so many genres together. They went absolutely ballsy as fuck with E8 and they gave us our catharsis with Disappearance. Not to mention that even if it's forgotten, the show has held a symbolic status for a shitload of people (most viewed anime, people dancing everywhere, even fucking prisoners doing the Hare Hare Yukai dance)

This proves that Hyouka is objectively the best Kyoani anime. It's pretty rare to see Nips' taste and 4ch's to align.
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Haruhi came out in '06, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole anime has clear, crisp direction, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the soundtrack a big boost.
