Like, if worst comes to worst and we are never able to access their DRM ever again, it's possible to setup an auto screenshot program + an hotkey to save all the pages in a pretty ok resolution, depending on the monitor used.

Is there a good guide on cutting the books properly without potentially destroying the actual art?
Does it matter what scanner you have? Or is it more about the settings? I have one of those printer/scanner hybrids and don't know if they'll be any good for this.

No need to cut anything. You simply heat up the glue and the pages will separate really easily.
I'm personally using a hair dried, a heat gun or something should be better but not everyone has one.
As for the scanner, just test it. I personally prefer a CCD sensor, but the majority of the newer, affordable ones are CIS.
Default software is mostly shit and gives you almost zero customization, go for VueScan or something similar.

The thing is, those fonts doesn't look good on big scans, much less when letters themselves big too. I used fonts like in № 1, since they kinda look similar to original (menus notwithstanding), but people/translator asking to change it to "rpg-like font", hence № 2.
