I work hard and I have a standard of excellence - and I expect everyone at the Interior Department to meet that same standard. I delegate a lot. I might appear to be doing a lot of different things, but there's a strong team helping me. I believe we're going to have the strongest team of any agency in the Obama administration.

Today I reviewed 88 cards and learned 20.

If I increase today's review limit, will there be cards I learned today? Because I don't want that. I want to review cards that were already scheduled anyway.
>>
>>138683228
It'll take you a decade to reach fluency at that rate. You need to start adding more new cards.

If you don't want to do more new cards that day, then just use the extra time to read or do grammar. It's a more productive use of your time and doing reviews on days they're not scheduled for can do more harm than good.

If I don't want to download manga from mangafox, and manga chapters I'm looking for are not on batoto, what websites do anons here recommends?

FYI first, I currently live in a country where google is limited to domestic searches and government censorship are both rampant and arbitrary. Imgur is blocked, tmz is blocked, and mangafox, mangapanda are also blocked.

The idiot thing about the censorship is that while mangafox.com front page is blocked, mangafox.com/manga/manga-name isn't.

So if I know what I already know, then everything is fine. If I don't, then I can't search for it.

Now /blog. What websites do anons here recommend for reading manga if I don't want to use Mangafox that is not Batoto?
For example Terra for Mars chapters are missing from Batoto.

Lucky. I'm in the 400 level class at my uni with only 5 other people, 3 of whom can barely even speak normally without fucking up, much less speak any Japanese out loud. >>138683727
Daitoshokan is hard to rate because the actual text isn't too hard (3 maybe?) but getting the jokes is not something a beginner will find much success in so I don't think anyone who is concerned about the "difficulty" of texts should read it.
Air is similar. 3-4 due to a lot of colloquial language.
Aiyoku no Eusta is 3 due to simple grammar, maybe 4ish due to high vocab/kanji level.
Nanairo Reincarnation is 3. Lots of normal easy text but plenty of hard chunks.
>>
What could be the problem with the word report not working in the text analyzer? Do I have to install something? The kanji report works just fine.

I've now tried the first volume of Bakemonogatari to see how it would differ from NHK, and oh boy.
1972 kanji, the first one being 原 (that comes from Senjougahara, the main girl's name). Araragi also uses 僕 quite a lot. As for the actual vocabulary, NisiOisiN uses 9772 unique words with the last on the list used being 齷齪.

>>
>>138684777
For me personally, it's been easiest to memorize the pronunciations of words and associate those words with kanji. After seeing the same kanji enough times in different words, and knowing those specific words, it becomes easier to grasp the sound a kanji is supposed to make.

That might just be me, though.

Sorry anons, I forgot to wrote these on my first post.

I am asking for English language manga sites on djt because of 2 things. One is that popular series sources are usually leaked raws so the scanlations hit the internet before the japanese magazine street date. So if I want to read early, I have to read the English scanlations because magazine raws are available at street date. English scanlations are always quicker.

The other reason is that manga websites have "popular manga chapters" and "recent release updates" features so I can discover new serials I'm not currently aware of.

As to why I don't just use Mangafox, I think the government got wiser specifically to Mangafox and it a lot of times it takes a long time to load chapter's pages. So I want to go to it's competitors.

Bato.to doesn't have some popular serials, for example, Terra for Mars.

Any websites recommend?

There is a few domestic manga websites that translates highly popular manga to local language, but it's collection is very scarce. If you are wondering why local manga websites aren't blocked, I guess they pay the Communication Ministry?

>>138683936
I've had instances of not being able to access Nocozazal but most of the time I can access it. I can't find newest chapters there though.

Nyaa is good for released volumes and for chapters it's good for highly popular serials. For older series that aren't as popular, it's highly dependent on seeders so English manga sites is where it's at for me, it's just that I can't use Mangafox any longer due to censorship. I can't even open the mangafox.me/directory/ any more. I can still open individual pages like mangafox.me/manga/bleach/ but then if I clicked say, the hyperlink to chapter 143, it doesn't load.

I need to circumvent it with copy link address, and copy paste ch. 143's bleach/v17/c143/1.html to be able to open it.

The government just kill Mangafox for me so I'm looking for it's competitors other than Bato.to

Okay, now I tried parsing through Harry Potter, 1-7. Please note that the txt file of the seventh version is not complete. Also, funnily enough, the sixth is called '謎のプリンス'. The Harry Potter in series only has 2670 kanji, with only 2068 kanji appearing more than four times. In regard to vocabulary, it's quite big with 27497 words, while 19066 appeared more than once, and 11482 words appeared five times or more.

I don't know what kind of setup you have, but I personally find the browser method far more convenient. I have the VN open fullscreen on one monitor, and a single browser window open showing me the text on the other.

Rikai has EPWING support, and I can also select and Google text with 1 click if simple dictionary definitions aren't helping me (invaluable for set phrases and such).

I coped from the texthooker to my browser to mine anyways and sometimes found myself copying to browser and using Rikai instead of the texthooker because a fair amount of the time it would parse incorrectly or Rikai has expressions in the dictionary that the texthooker doesn't, so that setup saves me multiple steps. I feel like it's a better setup overall anyways. Only features it lacks is syntax highlighting and furigana, but you shouldn't be using either of those anyways outside of maybe the first section of your first VN as training wheels.

You don't even study japanese, so please, don't rock the boat. Feel free to stay but don't fuck up a good thing going. It has been 3 nice djt threads in a row. Some people are going to get triggered by anime-girls djt image and it's just going to yield posts after posts of unnecessary debates.

I remember when DJT wasn't this autistic and didn't bat an eye at a thread every now and then with a random character added to the default OP image. At least we don't argue over certain things anymore, but those topics have just been replaced by other topics.

Which was mostly because of how bad it looked and the fact that it wasn't just a variation of the default one with a random character or two added (which is what almost all of the "anime" OPs posted before where). when studying a grammar resource (like tae kim) should one also be trying to read japanese shit throughout, and just ignore text with grammar that hasn't been learned yet?
or should one be satisfied with the examples in the grammar resource, finish reading all of the resource first, and only then try reading actual stuff?
in general, what are good ways to study and retain grammar?
>>
>>138689148
>We used to have random threads with an OP image that had random characters in it and no one really gave a shit or called comment to it.
This, if only the old archive was still around.

There was even a stretch of time where the OP would use a page of some manga or LN as the image. (Until people complained about not being able to find the thread in the catalog.)

It was never a source of autism or anger, until this new breed. Except for that a spergout one day when some OP made a really shitty-looking handwritten image "DJTスレ" with his tablet and people were calling him out for "disrespecting" the thread.

Reading them backwards will help. It even helps to just scan the example sentence backwards and whenever you hit a kanji see if you can say what the reading is supposed to be.

The problem is probably that you end up associating the pronunciations with the wrong thing, like the context of the example sentence or something.
Saying their pronunciation in reverse order will help you associate the pronunciations to the kanji themselves.

You know who the real asshole of djt is? The anon who post replies just to trigger reactions, being argumentative for argumentative sake, and debating semantics all the while being a condescending ass.

All of us can identify that anon because his posts usually doesn't use capital letters, comma, and period, along with some other punctuations.

We should collectively ignore him. Now if only there were a 4chan mod that is actively studying japanese, or if only there were a system in place to IP ban that one particular joker anon, djt would be a more productive place for discussion.

If you did something, you're probably the reason. Get over here so we can beat the shit out of you.

You know it's right, hence your kneejerk reaction and failure to address anything.

Eat shit you fucking cunt. People are responsible for their own actions and you should be joining in and telling these faggots to fuck off instead of being a passive agressive little bitch who cares more about avoiding confrontation than removing the rodents. Your spinless attitude is the reason why /a/ was so easily overran with manchildren back in 07-08, and now you attack the native minority in order to appease the unwanted outsiders.

What a fucking faggot. You into cuckoldry as well?

>It's ok anon, I'm sorry for your condition. I won't push you any harder.
I guess this is one of those posts that you think isn't argumentative right?
You're never the cause of arguments here are you? It's all just the other side that won't stop arguing huh
Must be frustrating for you.

Have you considered people just don't like it because it's a shit image, not because they must be crossboarders? I'm an /a/ user and I think it's a shit image.
