Urgent Help Required! I think this is the proper section. I'm doing baking in Maya and i'm ending up with theses nasty lines all over my UV seams and edges. How can i fix this?

Bump
>>
it's either there's a hidden object or your UVs are overlapping
>>
>>501739
Neither the scene is completely clear of objects and the UV's have a huge amount of space between each other.
>>
>>501733
try exporting and reimporting as OBJ. Or just remake the mesh it seems pretty basic
>>
>>501748
Did you set your seam fill in the bake settings high enough? The larger resolution your bake, the bigger the same fill value needs to be. For example, if it's a 2k map, around 8 pixels is the smart choice, and 14 for a 4k.
>>
>>501733
Just wondering if your textures fill the islands on the UV map or whether you have some bleed?

ie. I have found that a little bleed (~2-5 pixels)from the textures across the islands usually work better.
>>
>>501761
As >>501759 said, the amount of bleed you need actually depends on the bake resolution. A bleed of 2-5 pixels would be terrible for a 4k map.

Alright. I'm going to post my entire workflow.

Where is that in batch bake?

That's my workflow, every step and all the settings from default to my settings.

Now its still bleeding on seams and i'm not really sure how to fix it.
>>
>>501822
Hey! I don't know much about Maya but the bottom section you see fill texture seams that looks like maya's version of padding.

Try that.
>>
>>501822
Right there near the bottom where it says Fill texture seams. 1.0 is only a single pixel of texture seam fill, which isn't enough for pretty much any resolution. Since you're doing 1024, 5.0 should be more than enough.
>>
>>501829
OK, What does it do? and how much the percentage does what?
>>
>>501831
Instead of trying to explain it with just text, read this page, it will tell you all you need to know about it.
http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Edge_padding

1.0 is one pixel, 2.0 is two pixels, 5.0 is 5 pixels of padding. It's not a percent, just a float value. So you could have 4.5 = 4 1/2 pixel padding.
