Greetings, and welcome to The /x/ Files, the weekly news digest for 4chan's Paranormal board. Every Sunday, we take a quick snapshot of the mysterious world around us and bring it, in an easily readable magazine format, to the board. I am The Editor, the anonymous creator of this idea and collector of the news that will be following below. In the interests of legitimacy, I will be using a secure tripcode to post the thread; once the posts are completed, I will take the tripcode off and return to my anonymity.

It's Super Bowl Sunday here in the US, and an entire day is devoted to eating, drinking, and watching amusing commercials. There's some handegg in there somewhere too. News was super light this week, but what I've got, I'll give. Thanks for checking out the brand new Issue Thirteen of The /x/ Files!

Iceland to build first temple to Norse gods in 1,000 years

Icelanders will soon be able to publicly worship at a shrine to Thor, Odin and Frigg with construction starting this month on the island's first major temple to the Norse gods since the Viking age. Membership in Asatruarfelagid, an association that promotes faith in the Norse gods, has tripled in Iceland in the last decade to 2,400 members last year, out of a total population of 330,000, data from Statistics Iceland showed. The temple will be circular and will be dug 13 feet down into a hill overlooking the Icelandic capital Reykjavik, with a dome on top to let in the sunlight.

Notorious Demon House Torn Down After Purchase By "Ghost Adventures" Star

The home that sparked national attention over reports of it being infested with powerful demonic activity, leading to the purported possession of nearly an entire family, has been torn down, the Indiana Star reported. The razing of the Gary, Indiana property followed its purchase by the host and executive producer of "Ghost Adventures," Zak Bagans in early 2014. Bagans said he now plans to release a documentary on the residence's haunting later this year which will reveal the reason behind its demolition. "Something was inside that house that had the ability to do things that I have never seen before — things that others carrying the highest forms of credibility couldn't explain either," he told the newspaper. "There was something there that was very dark yet highly intelligent and powerful."

Astonishing Legends:

There is a legend that in one or more arcades in Portland, Oregon in 1981, there lurked a mysterious game called “Polybius” and it had a much more nefarious purpose than to provide amusement and cheat a kid out of quarters - it may have been there to brainwash you, and then report its findings to a sinister government agency. There were reports of players who suffered terrible side effects from the visuals, like headaches, nausea, memory loss, nightmares, and in some extreme cases, suicide. But were these reports true? Did this diabolical game ever exist? Was the legend of Polybius just an urban legend?

Whether you use today as a reason to eat metric tons of food, or your favorite team is in the game, or just because of the goofy-ass commercials. I wish all of you anons on /x/ a safe and happy day. And if you're not Murican, well, have a good day anyway. As for me, I'm gonna go eat some pizza and wings now.

Thank fuck that temple is getting built. It's gonna have a real vibe to it, a proper attitude in it's construction.

That guy with the house looks like he's just gone - ok time to make a film and destroy the evidence so it can never be refuted.. but maybe it'll be interesting.

Thanks Ed! Enjoy your Sunday.
