What power lies in the ritualization of aesthetic beyond the target of its evocation? Can the aesthetic effect influence in and of itself? Asking for a friend.

That pic would have been SO meaningful six years ago.

Now it's just a form of metaphysical ignorance.

Aesthetic provides the link to what lies beneath us. It removes the divide between subject and object and puts us closer to the source.

In and of itself, the aesthetic will, or at least should, reach the same conclusion from an entirely different base. But the results in-between will be that of the aesthetic. The question then becomes whether you can handle the undiluted form of said aesthesis.

So is aesthetic then the crystallization of subjectivities? Is it the material by which we interact with the condition of subjectification?

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I feel like I'm playing with dangerous magic here and I need to think and write clearly and carefully.

More the material than the crystallization, but it's not always clear if or when an aesthetic can ever crystallize.

Could ritual be the crystalline form of a fluid aesthetic? I can understand ritual as the process of evocation, but can it be understood as a material element of aesthetic itself? Or does the shifting flow of aesthetic contradict the notion of any bound, fixed element of its structure? Ritual certainly varies in time and context but surely its purpose is rooted in some form of repeatability, correct?
