Skin walkers are the only thing on this board that I think might not all be roleplay/mental illness.
Something about them, and the things some of my native friends have said.

anyone got the one where a small group go to a cabin and hang around and shit goes down, then it turns into a straight action script where they run around the house scooby doo style, shoot it, the main character see's hell while entranced from the skinwalker, and they drive away from its dying body, its head molts or blossoms into all the persons its copied until its turns into something horrible. It was very well written.

sorry for late reply but here i go.
>am in TN
>just move into new house
>grew up in apartment complex, not used to so many damned trees.
>still in this house currently, and the town itself is fairly developed
>despite that, my backyard is practically a fairly large piece of land with nothing but trees.
>during the summer and free weekends, a friend and I would explore around because teenage boredom.
Over the course of us exploring, we found lots of shit. Such as a tiny ass shack that someone(thing) still lived in, and meeting its "owner" in a very unfortunate situation, a garbage dump that we realized may have been a settlement of some sort, before it got completely wrecked, and an abandoned farm, where we found a skeleton of a horse with what looked like the cause of death from a broken spine and ribs.
>>
>>17861350
>>17861339
Not that. Its a small group of 2 guys and girls, and at one point the main guy was walking with one of the girls in a misty path to the cabin, only to find out the actual girl was in front of him the whole time.

Sorry, had to take out the dog. Have a mini real-life creepypasta about the horrors of puppies -- and don't read it if you're eating:

>be uploading pasta for /x/ anons
>hear That Noise
>pupper gotta go poop
>get up and find the leash
>this has become routine
>i haven't slept a full night in months
>get pupper out of kennel
>face licking for days, hello pupper
>she is ten pounds of dog and seven of them are just legs
>she's growing an inch every time i look away like grow-sponge cryptid
>pupper is making distressed grumbling sounds
>pick up the pace and get her leashed up
>make way through house
>walking quietly so as to not wake bitchful hag in the other room
>get to the back door
>put on nitrile gloves and get a baggie
>grab flashlight, go outside
>pitch black
>heavy cloud cover
>moon has fucked off somewhere
>waist-high grass around porch
>trees ring yard
>basically innawoods the minute you go outside
>look around while dog goes off to find The Spot
>nothing weird
>barred owls caterwauling in the distance
>this is fine
>dog finds The Spot
>turn flashlight on her
>she turns her ass my way
>thanks a lot
>she begins to do the do
>horrible diarrhea noise.wav
>shit (literally) looks wrong

continued
>>
>>17861945
>yellow tendrils coming out of dog's ass
>little things on the end like hooks
>i can never eat pasta again
>dog literally doesn't seem to care
>these fucking things are pushed slowly out of her
>seems to take days
>probably took 30 seconds
>hear something scream in the distance, hardly notice
>this happens most nights
>eventually the deed is done
>pupper trots up to me as though she's proud that her ass is some portal to cthulhu's bathroom
>i pick up the horrible mess and deposit it in the baggie
>my entire being is screaming as i do this
>i put the tainted glove in there too
>i resist the urge to light it on fire then and there
>we go back inside
>bury the terrible bag of nightmares in the bottom of the trashbag
>i de-leash pupper and give her some canine pepto bismol
>go the fuck to sleep.pdf
>wash hands for ten minutes
>come hack in here
>type this

Have fun deworming your pets, anons. I'll get back to dumping creepypasta now.

had the same thing with my border collie. Vet gave us some stuff for it, didnt tell us that it works fast as fuck. As soon as we get home and situate our pupper, all you hear is a loud ass shart and a writhing mass of fecal matter and spindly clear goo worms. Thankfully that pretty much expelled most of them and the bro vet gave us free second dose when a couple was showing up after a month or so.

Wondering if anyone has this one... From what I remember, there was a guy and his dad in the woods with their dogs. There's a cabin in the woods, and they see some deer-headed/masked guy through one of the upper floor windows. Stuff happens that I don't remember, they lose the dogs, find the dogs dead and mangled, and then they come back later and burn the cabin down.

I live out near the area. Freaky shit happens out in this desert. Heard a lot of shit, only have one story personally.

>be me, senior year of high school hanging out with my buddy we'll call bro
>few weeks ago he'd introduced me to a group of girls, we decide we'll hang with them
>pick them up, we're in my car (shitty mustang, seats 4 people)
>fuck that, we squeeze 6 of us in there
>it's about 2am, we drive down to the ghetto area Indio
>driving along empty road, no houses in sight for miles, no cars either. we spot an abandoned house, all locked up and fenced off
>bro goes "dudes, lets check it out! this could be fun!
>sounds like a terrible plan, lets do it. pull over into the dirt, girls are a little freaked out but w/e
>approach the fence, has sign saying no trespassing, this property has been condemned by the city of indio
>fuck that, we hop the fence and walk about 50 feet to the house
>windows all boarded up, try the front door, its locked
>walk around to the back, back door cracked open slightly. sweet, victory.
>one of the girls, aurora, calls us over. walk over to her, cool abandoned truck.
>we check it out, lose interest when there's nothing worth taking.
>bro wanders around to the back of the house, minute later we hear him freaking out
>walk around back, tf do you want?
>back door closed and locked
>wtf
>we all go silent and hear footsteps coming towards the door
>oh fuck no
>girls start screaming and we run
>hop the fence, pile into car, fishtail the fuck out of there
>we never talk about it anymore
>fuck this desert

About 4 days ago i slept outside in an open tent in the swannanoa area. 1 hour from where one of these greentexts say there were a bunch of skinwalkers, i thought about them the entire time i was out there. No sightings or sounds, but my wife did smell decaying in the air for a second.

>Own a large property in the country that has been in the family for generations.
>Great grandfather bought it from the Native American's when they started selling off land (Oklahoma)
>Lots of weird things happen in our area, as well as specifically out there on our property.
>Belong to a tribe of Germanic pagans, decide that we are going to build a temple in one of the forest clearings one the property.
>Build a hörgr (stone altar) in a different clearing for making offerings to the vættir (land spirits).
>One little problem- there is a big fruit tree growing in the center of the clearing and there is no way to build around it.
>Down comes the fruit tree.
>A few days pass...
>Parents, who have a cabin at the front of the property, begin hearing loud screaming noises that they have never heard before. Father grew up deep in the Ozarks and was in the special forces, but he has never heard anything remotely like this.
>Huh, weird.
>Trees around the property begin getting destroyed in bizarre ways.
>Huge cedar tree limbs appear to have been twisted until they "popped," there are branches as big as my arm that have simply been torn off and tossed around. The next day, several trees are simply snapped in half about 10-15 feet up. The day after that, two trees are pushed over (roots and all) across the road we use to move around the property.
>There are no storms or bad weather at this time, the ground around the trees is totally undisturbed, there are other trees that are within feet from the destroyed trees that are totally unharmed, and there is no sign of claw marks or damage to the trees (other than being ripped apart and thrown around). The screams can still be heard from time to time during all of this, though.

>Good sign or a bad sign? I'm going to go with good, better have a feast to celebrate.
>No more ruined trees, no more bizarre screams. We make offerings to her every month now of all her favorite things in order the maintain the peace and good will between us.
>Build a stone altar specifically for her and her offerings. Many people become frightened when going down that trail and most animals freak out and refuse to go down that way.

>>17872830
If you live anywhere near woods, you've likely got Huldra, and if there are small ponds and lakes one of them is bound to have a nacken.

Then of course there are the alfar and dvergar, trolls, and the restless dead. Sweden, like most of Scandinavia, has a rich history of tales concerning the hidden folk if you do some digging.

I guess a Huldra lives nearby?
>>
>>17872849
It is pretty interesting, and although she isn't particularly hostile any longer, she still does odd things to remind us that she is there.

We put some tobacco on the same platter as her apples once, and withing an hour the apples had been moved onto the stone altar and the tobacco was scattered. Apparently she doesn't like them touching, so we make sure to use separate platters now.

We had a 50 pound block of salt near the grove just up and vanish one day, and despite lots of searching, it never turned back up. Lots of things like that.

The only one that I would call "disturbing" was when the neighbors at a nearby property had a dog that would run around the property at times and bark at us and our horses while we were out there. One day we went out there to leave Wendy her apples and ales and there was the dog beneath a nearby cedar tree. It was torn all to pieces but there was still enough of it left for us to know what it was. We have come to the conclusion that she is no great fan of dogs.
>>
>>17872844
Hahahaha I didn't understand what you ment with "nacken" first. "Näcken i bäcken" or "naked in the river?" is what we call them. It's some sort of humanoid creature that plays violin naked in a river, I may be a bit off on this one though
>>
>>17872897
Almost certainly- I would guess from looking at this that there are plenty of different beings lurking around there.

A good way to find out is actually through place names- the names of mountains, lakes, ponds, certain woods and stones may contain names of things like the gods or different being like jotnar or Huldra. If they were there once, they likely still are.
>>
>>17872905

No no, you have it pretty well- I forgot to change the a to a ä. But yes, they are spirits that dwell in bodies of water and which lure people in to drown them.

If you find a body of water with a Näcken, it is a good idea to give them something each year (usually either at the start of Summer or Winter) in order to pay for your life and safety. Like most spirits, if you give them a gift then they will owe you one as well, and so will not take you as their yearly victim.
>>
>>17872904
thats pretty cool man, thanks for sharing.
Did she like the tobacco?
>>
>>17872950
Yes, so long as it is kept separate from the other things like her apples, bread, or cheese, she seems to like it. She just doesn't like it mixed in with anything else- someone suggested that since it isn't edible, she likely wants it kept apart from the mostly edible offerings we make.
>>
>>17872911
Behind the blue dot lies "Frösön" or Freyas island. Named from old Norse mythology.
Below the blue dot there are 3 small lakes called "the black lakes" Might be something there.

The only wierd thing that I have experienced was about a year ago when I decides too look up some old prayers for the old Norse gods. When i started to do these prayers and offer a bit of food and drink during every meal i felt some sort of feeling. I'm not sure if it was just me finding comfort in having a religion and something to belive in or if it was something else.
>>
>>17872973
Really? That is fascinating.

Freya is a mighty goddess, but she is also not one to be taken lightly, for she is a great deal darker than her golden brother Frey. She inspires lust, teaches the magical arts of seiðr, and is tied to war and death in ways similar to Odin. Islands are also sacred due to their "othery" nature, and were frequently the locations chosen for sacrifices, and so you can almost guarantee that this island and the surrounding lakes were places of power and sacrifice for her. In other words, if you ever find something odd or interesting out there...just leave it.

And my opinion, as a practitioner of this faith? It was likely either the vættir or your ancestors- they are the most likely to take interest in you, and turning to the old ways is of particular interest to many of them.
>>
>>17873017
The christians actually built their church on top of a sacrifice spot. If you were too look under it you can find bones from animals, I don't think they sacrificed people.
>>
>>17873044
Yes, they were in the habit of doing that- they thought that it would serve as an excellent way to make converting easier for people.

And probably not, or at least not very often- the vast majority of sacrifices were animals, which were then eaten by the tribe in a sort of communion with the deity the animal had been sacrificed to. Odin would probably be the only one that human lives were regularly sacrificed to.
>>
>>17873061
You seem very read up about everthing of this. Do you work somewhat related to it or is it just a hobby you have?
>>
>>17873078
A little bit of both, I suppose.

I am not a professor or anything, no, but I am a Norse/Germanic Pagan and my tribe looks to me for wisdom and guidance. So that means I spend a good deal of my time researching archaeological discoveries, new scholarly theories on pre-Christian Norse religion, the various written and cultural sources left to us, etc.
>>
>>17854330
Is there a part two?
>>
>>17873061
Christianity systematically destroyed native European traditions, and in many cases genocided the people who practiced them and destroyed temples and sacred monuments. How else could a foreign semite religion go about diseasing great peoples?

This happened to me way back, I think I was 11 at the time
>grandparents move to Arizona
>entire family (all my aunts, uncles, and cousins) go stay with them for a couple weeks
>watch movie every night
>one night they watch some r rated movie that they didn't let me watch
>had to stay alone in the guest house
>playing gameboy just chilling
>hear footsteps near the back of guest house
>figure they must have gotten back early
>go to let them in
>get to the door and see something rush passed the door
>run to bedroom, grab the phone and call up my dad
>about a minute later my cousins came running back to the guest house with rifles
>explained to them in detail what happened
>they said it must have been a skinwalker
At the time I thought they were just making up some spoopy monster (they used to do that all the time). I just assumed it was the mountain lion my grandparents said lived near the house ( even though it was way to tall to be it), Never thought anything more of it until I started seeing skinwalker threads on 4chan and realized it wasn't just some random make-believe monster from the mind of my cousin.

So you worship land spirits and then tear down a fruit tree? Pretty much the most literal symbol of the earth's bounty.
Wow, you are really fucking stupid.

I think I'm gonna go worship a fire spirit and piss all over a bonfire.

Kek. That made me laugh out loud
>>
>>17879572
Well for one, it's not like it was the only one in the area or something- there are dozens of the same sort on the property, even a whole grove. I've had to cut several down before for various reasons in the past and nothing odd ever came of it.

And just because you believe in and honor land spirits doesn't suddenly mean every tree, fruiting or not, is suddenly sacred and untouchable. There has to be something, generally, that sets them apart as sacred.
