As the NSA, google, facebook, etc. collect more and more data and the systems to analyze them get better and better, our ability to predict future trends and events will grow exponentially. Just as the ancient Greeks consulted the oracles, we will consult super intelligent AIs that analyze meta data to predict future events with great accuracy. Would an AI like this answer all our extestenial questions, or ascend to a higher plane of consciousness and surpass the human race?

Not necessarily. Think about all the data out there to describe you personally. Eventually corporations will become crazy accurate at guessing what you want to buy. Obviously data doesn't exist like this for huge portions of the world that live in mud huts and shit but eventually everyone will be a part of the system
