jojo is pretty fucking scary . its like if every one with supernatural powers looked like a prince impersonator or david bowie in drag
>>17776403
I was waiting for a decent into hell or something.
Very disappoint
>>17776407
is jojo short for Junji Ito?
>>17776403
>hijacking the thread for that
Ffs that was pretty shit
Apocalypse no Toride, I am a Hero and Cradle of Monsters, about zambambos
Jisatsu Circle, not technically paranormal but interesting. Suicide Island in a similar vein.
Another is a novel, manga and an anime.
Franken Fran for obvious reasons.
Ghost Hunt, it is very shoujo but if you're into that kind of thing it is very keen on paranormal investigation and has inclusion of various methods/religions/theories of things. Ghost Hound is also good, the anime was well done.
Gregory Horror Show and KaiDan Restaurant are on the campy side but worth watching. Pet Shop of Horrors and Xxxholic are also kind of female oriented I think, but definitely incorporate a lot of supernatural stuff and spoops.
Litchi Hikari Club
Paranoia Agent
Shiki, zombie vampires
Umineko and Higurashi would fall u Der this. Manga is alright, Umineko manga reads easier than Higurashi, but the original VN format is best. Don't bother with Umineko anime. Higurashi anime was good for me.
Deadman Wonderland is pretty hit or miss with most people.
King of Thorn is a recommended read if you like group survival things, not zombies.

Also will add, if you can stand to be a fan of CLAMP as I am, most if not all of their works contain some paranormal, fantasy and often /x/ type elements, like multiple dimensions, character manifestations of myths and legends, mysterious or spoopy events or characters and spooky noodle anatomy.
>>17776430
Thank you for the contributions senpai. Now Ive heard alot about I am a hero. Is it your typical zombie scenario though?
>>17776462
Typical in plot progression, kind of, but in presentation, not at all. The characters are pretty unique in my opinion, and there are some developments beyond a linear "oh no run from the zambinos" story which often ends the same with military or other interference, a cure or death. The progression of this manga in particular contains some of the same necessary elements to move the plother forward and create a basis for the actual story to begin, but that's all I can say in vagueness without revealing any important things. It is worth a read, definitely.
>>17776409
Horror manga is kind of bland in general. Ito is probably the best horror manga artist and his storylines generally suck, especially in his short work.
That said, I'd recommend
>Kuro (Somato)
>Murcielago
>Voynich Hotel
>Parasyte
>Bokurano
>Biomeat
>Soil
>Now and Then, Here and There
>C3
>Vesper Guo: Homunculus
>The Drifting Classroom
There's another that I read a few years ago about kids with a condition that causes them to uncontrollably move between dimensions, but I don't remember the name.
>>17776409
Part 2 when?
>>17776416
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and it isn't a horror manga
>>17776173
Fuan no Tane
>>17777381
Kouishou Radio by Nakayama Masaaki
>>17777381
Seems spoopy. Is it just a series of short stories?
>>17776403
is this your way of saying there is no good horror comics besides junji ito?
>>17776173
Fuan no Tane and Fuan no Tane Plus. English name is Seeds of Anxiety
Zashiki Onna and and anime but Yamishibai
>>17777381
>>17778233
Is there anyway to get a physical copy of the english version? Would fucking love to get my hands on this macabre piece
Pic related is all they have on amazon. The original japanese text
try ibitsu
"i am a Hero" is great. Creepy, great art, best zombie story approach ever IMO.
>>17780346
But don't brush it off as typical zombie redundancy, it gets crazy af. Also The main character is basically a 4chan user, who happens to be a sport shooter and had special licensing to own a shotgun, which make him a lucky bastard when SHTF. Lots of gore, sex, etc, but all realistic, not over the top
>>17778018
Yes, only short stories.
>>17778546
Unfortunately it hasn't been published in English, only fan translated.
I liked zashiki onna
>>17776341
>all my respect for his thighs has been lost
Il ask this here, is horror anime a thing? I feel there's a lot of potential. Does the fact that it dosent look real ruin it?
There are a few good ones on LINE webtoons.
>>17780378
>Special license to own a shotgun
In Ohio, we call that turning 16
>>17783487
In zombie infested Japan they call that a lucky bastard
>>17783435
Horror anime is definitely a thing. You needn't look further than Shiki, Corpse Party or Another to prove that.
...but I will anyway.
>Ghost Hunt
>Hellsing
>King of Thorn
>Paranoia Agent
>Highschool of the Dead
>Higurashi
>Yamishibai
>>17780378
You convinced me. Ill have to check it out. The artwork looks very quality as well. I love a more realistic gritty approach rather than when the characters proportions and features are exaggerated
>>17781754
This. Fucked me up real good tbqh fampai
>>17783435
Oh its a thing
>>17776403
Oh wow.
Fuck you
>>17783435
It's not scary or creepy at all.
Just a gore mostly
>>17776403
The only reason this was remotely scary was because I kept expecting something scary to happen, since this is a horror manga thread. The unusual art style certainly helped.
And here we are with no pay-off whatsoever.
>>17776403
so glad i wasted my time on this piece of shit
>>17784429
Yah same here, that's why I liked berserk, Gantz, Shigurui, claymore, etc. I like em realistic, dark, gritty and weird.
The Drifting Classroom by Kazuo Umezu is the best horror comic I've ever read. It's like Lord of the Flies with frightening monsters and a post apocalyptic wasteland. There are adults but they're all homicidal wackos. It's an entire elementary school that's lost so you get to see the older kids attempt to create a society. The art is stiff but that's part of the appeal. Umezu is like nobody else. You should also read Cat Eyed Boy.
>>17776173
>good
>manga
Paradox.
>>17786563
Not op but ima check it out!
>>17786563
How many volumes are there?
Dragon Head
It's a really great psychological horror story
