Oh, yeah, the FDA has been trying to reduce the blanket of terms that natural/artificial flavors covers for years. Something that comes to mind is something a little while back about Monosodium Glutamate, and how a lot of people were boycotting companies that used it in their food products. To circumvent this, a lot of manufacturers just stopped printing Monosodium Glutamate, and instead listed Natural Flavors. As for distance traveled while higher up (larger circle, larger circumference):
The earth has a radius of 12742km, which makes a circumference of 40030km.
If you add 10km to the radius (typical airplane height), you get a circumference of 40061km.
