Post the creepiest real or fake emergency broadcast or end of the world videos.

Anyone have the link to the one where it instructs people to kill their families?

Also in this vein there's a movie/doc called Threads about a nuclear Attack in a northern English town, to a lesser extent the movie 'How I live now'

shelter345 makes some good EAS videos. I like how most of them actually have some kind of plot going on, usually with some kind of conspiracy that ties into an ongoing metaplot. I'd love to find more stuff like his, but it's not easy, because I don't really know what to search for. There are a lot of mock EAS videos out there, but there don't seem to be many that place the same emphasis on building up a plot. Looking at the titles doesn't really help, because even shelter345's videos don't have titles that suggest how complex they get. I can see why he does that, because part of the fun of these is feeling like you're watching/listening to a "normal" emergency, and then the surprise as things take a turn for the unexpected.

Anyway, here are shelter345's videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/shelter345/videos

I suggest watching them in chronological order, because some metaplot segments in later videos refer to things that happened in previous videos. If anyone knows of another person who does EAS videos in this plot-heavy style, I'd love to know about them.

You sure as hell do NOT want to experience one AT ALL. I used to live in Blair, Oklahoma. That shit went off, my family looked outside and I'm pretty sure that I shit myslef. I had to go into our basement and stay there for what seemed like an hour. Our neighbors house, while not destroyed, a couple of windows were broken and their shed was in their field.

If you're trying to avoid dying at the hands of a predator, looking at the ceiling leaves yourself vulnerable to a strike since you're not paying attention to what's around you. I imagine that's the reasoning, anyways. It being on the ceiling and looking up is only dangerous if that, say drives you insane, gets you sprayed or makes it decide to fall right onto you as far as I can understand.

Here's added bonus: Try not to make everything spooky or horrible, just unnerving. For instance, do an entire news cast that's relatively normal...except everyone is an ever-so-slightly off claymation/cgi abomination. Or everyone's smiling far too wide all the time, and they keep praising 'The One Above All'. The subtler the better - you want someone to casually tune in, and wonder - really wonder - whether what they are seeing is real.

Nobody said that the "intruder" is corporeal.
Most japanese horror movies works exactly under this conditions.

You only get fucked when you look at it.

Also, the will to look at it is just to big. Ciontrolling yourself to not look at it while knowing that someone is there is the spooky part.

And fuck you for make me expalin this.

>>17652253

You guys are the reason why horror movies need to be watched alone. You're the kind of faggot that keeps asking stuff and breaking the immersion - or, ffs, even interrupting the storytelling by the campfire to ask bullshit.
The whole message states you not to investigate or go look at what's happening in general, and not to fucking even try to look at an invader that might be inside your house. Then it tells you also not to look at the ceiling.
Is is really that fucking hard to make any logical connection between these simple facts?
>>
>>17659706
Exactly. I have about 5 written already, and all but one aren't really 'scary'. My favorite one is a community calendar of events that is just... off. I'm shooting to get a sort of overarching hidden story of sorts between them before I start shooting and editing. It's probably going to be a while before I can start releasing them honestly.
>>
>>17659901
Where will you publish?
Or you will make videos of them like the ones OP ( is a faggot) posted?
>>
>>17659940
I want them to be videos. I have a local production company interested in my writing (A different project that I've done.) The script they have they love, but I'm having to adapt it into a screen play for them. I'm hoping that I can get them on board for this project as well, just as a fun side thing. That's why I need to have the series completed before I can start, I'm hoping to show it to them to get them interested.
>>
>>17659948
I wish you all the luck anon.

In all honesty, I didnt even knew such a thing existed ( spoof emergency broadcast about supernaturall things) but I love it.

Im not an /x/ desu. Still, this caugh my attention.

I just hope your company dont try to keep a PG (if it becomes a full series) taking the horror and absurdity out of your work just to get more revenue.

Kudos from Brazil, muh nigga :D
>>
>>17659951
They know I'm moody with my work. If they try to change it I will walk and take my work with me.
If the attempt to make them videos falls though, I'll put them up somewhere online, as a series of short stories or something, and I'll let /x/ know.

Hey guys, I'm a theater/actor/writer person and have been working on creating a new theater piece inspired by this image I attached.

I literally just got inspired by these vids and developed a concept/proposal for a "locked room" that also includes this image as inspiration. Essentially the concept is a room that the audience (2-3 people) would go into alone that has been abandoned. They are free to roam and interact with everything (books, photo albums, closets, drawers, etc.) to discover what happened (or some other end goal, like finding a way out of the room or finding a specific object).

Here's a google doc I whipped up with the concept laid out more clearly:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzYrzium9DXgNkRTT2Z6eG90R28/view?usp=sharing

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated, lemme know if you think this'd be cool

there are only 50 states. there is no 51st state. sometimes we make jokes about Puerto Rico or Canada or something being the 51st state.

but being English the word "state" has many meanings, like "state of mind" or "state of existence" or whatever. so if the 51st state is not a place, it's some sort of state like this.

other than that it isn't at all clear what it means, on purpose.
>>
>>17664768
your obviously not from america bro, hawaii is our 51 state that people typically get confused by since its not just straight up connected to us, no one ever evvvvveer makes jokes about Puerto Rico or Canada being apart of us lol
>>
>>17659839
He asked because "don't look at the ceiling" is stupid and stands out in the context of the rest of the video. If there was some kind of threat that the government was trying to warm people about, and that threat was of a nature such that you were not supposed to look at it and it was crawling on the ceiling, then... wrong fucking movie. The EAS wouldn't be used for something like that.

The whole idea behind creepy EAS broadcasts is they are based on the core idea of the EAS, which is that they are used for broad, widespread threats - public emergencies. As soon as the video introduced "don't look at things you see in the corner of your eye" and "don't look at the ceiling", it dropped the ball because suddenly it was acting like some Japanese horror movie.

If you get rid of those two lines from the movie, it becomes a million times better. It sounds like something an EAS would say, as in the case of a foreign invasion or whatnot, but with certain strange commands that force you to ask, "what the hell is going on?" Even when it says "don't investigate intruders in your home", it's sending the message that there is something attacking civilization that is so dangerous, that literally the best thing you can do is hide, even when it's in your own home. Even then, it would have been better if it suggested something like, "if you belief someone has forced entry into your home, then hide, remain silent, do not investigate, and do not leave your home".

"Don't look at the ceiling" is so fucking trite that the idea of it appearing in an EAS broadcast is beyond stupid. Any horror movie or story that involves legitimate "don't look at the ceiling" moments are of a nature such that they do not mix with the sort of civilization-is-being-destroyed horror that this youtube clip represents. It was extremely sloppy to include those two lines.

it's part of your operating system and you can't turn it off without root access. i'm assuming it also works like emergency calls where it does not need a phone plan to be recieved.

they are sent through cell phone towers and will make every phone in a specific radius flip shit. it will vibrate and make noise as much as it can.

Dude, seriously, you gave it half an hour on a slow board then tweaked the fuck out because no one responded to your write-up? Chill. If you want people to respond, if they have suggestions or think it's a good idea, they'll say so.

It sounds like the same sort of concept as those escape rooms that are blowing up right now. Plus, you just found the things you liked in the thread and threw it with something else you really like and are trying to make it all cohesive.

Most of these things are scary because, like an anon pointed out above, they don't necessarily go for scary; they go for unnerving.

If you're really trying to do this, stick with one concept and develop it. Make the world complement it, don't shoehorn in other creepypasta stuff.

And don't invite people to your apartment to try it, for christ's sake. That's creepy in and of itself. Rent out a place to do it if you want something legit. Sage for goddammit, anon.

I live in NYC so it's not that insane of a concept to use an apartment for something like that, I already rent out my studio for use as a rehearsal space weekly. Getting an actual performance space in manhattan that I could transform into a place like that would be a bitch without a lot of resources.

you're 100% right about going for unnerving over scary, but I don't think that including one extra creepy piece of inspiration would be shoehorning. Just trying to flesh out the world around it. The thing about the "escape/locked room" experiences that are popular, especially in NYC, is that they don't really have any story behind them. They're just intricate puzzles with some shallow story thrown on top to give a semblance of motivation. So I'm hoping this could be different by actual being fueled by an actual, legit, unnvering backstory.

also sorry amigo didn't realize how slow /x/ was I don't come here often

lived in far western north carolina a few years back. the cable system was pretty primitive, and we didn't even subscribe yet. but there was an alert of some sort, local, not even eas level. the local sheriff's office could broadcast from the cable office. they would overload the system someway, and it would broadcast over both cable and air to reach your tv if it was close enough. we got this really overmodulated voice over channel 3 or 4, whatever we had the tv on at the time (to use the vhs). they announced the weather emergency. there was no video, just the snow would fluctuate with the overmodulated voice.

it was creepy.

>>
>>17668229
It's actually pretty easy to protect people and/or resources from radiation though.
>>
>>17668257
Depends on the intensity tho.

For example, when a black hole sucks up a star, they eject matter from the center of the blackhole at relativistic speeds (about 80% the speed of light) that can cross the entire galaxy.

That burst of plasma is so intense that even if got the milky way tangencially (lets say, the "spray" was aimed at the oort cloud) it would be enough to kill every living thing on Earth.

And the video that anon posted is retarded.

There is no way to predict with such precision that a star will go nova in 24 hours.

And if said star is 5 light years away, the burst would reach us...5 years from now.

Also, why the fuck would the president put a warning like this 5 years before?

The entire society would collpase.

Looting, murder and rape would happen for 5 years until we got wiped out.

Yes, Im that much of a nerd to know all this without resorting on wikipedia. I need to get laid.

>>
>>17668229
This made me lol. "Everyone on earth will be killed. This has been the emergency alert system."

Isn't that something the president would make an actual speech about? The point of the EAS is to tell you something's happening or about to happen and what you can do to protect yourself. It's not really the proper venue for a message that's just "We're all dead. That is all."
>>

They test those in my city on the first Monday of the month. It's loud and sounds like hell has come to claim everything.

Most of the time there wrong. Well get flash or tornado warnings and nothing won't happen. Some of the scariest weather happened without a single warning.

Yeahhh this anon is on the money, I was in Far North Queensland in Australia for cyclone Yasi.
That bitch was the most powerful anyone had seen in a long time, and it completely destroyed the reading station, like wiped it off the face off the planet, so we had no idea what we were dealing with.
The local news, the prinicpal, the cops, everyone was just saying to lock everything, tie down everything, tape and board the windows, and to not leave the basement until notified again.
Shit could have gone really bad, luckily it missed us and hit the faglords on top of the mountain, but was still reasonably scary, windows blew out, trees got thrown, the local harbour had surfable waves for day, and peoples boats ended up pretty far inland...

There were a couple of tv movies presented in the format of emergency broadcasts.

Special Bulletin is about nuclear terrorism.

Without Warning is about meteor strikes that are revealed to be alien attacks.

Networks aired them only once, partely because they weren't that great and included a fuckload of disclaimers so people knew they were fake.

I remember seeing another one as a kid about a Mars mission but I can't remember our figure out the title.
>>
>>17659217
(I believe) if one station plays emergency tones, it's set up to make all compliant stations play the emergency broadcast. I'm also sure the government wouldn't appreciate people playing a fake government alert that copies the style of real ones.

Its probably not forbidden ( as in, there is a law saying that said layout or sounds should not be used) but striking panic on the citizens is indeed a crime.

So, the best way to avoid this would be by making a disclamer in fine print like those car ads has it.

This would avoid legal troubles trough technicalities.

Not sure what ppl would want to do with these ads tho. Unless you are into life insurance bussiness and make an ad about the rapture, there is not much you can do with these....

Clearly, the thing can't be acknowledged. They pretty much just tell you to act as if nothing was happening at all-times, even if something IS happening. It will probably make you disappear if you notice them, I guess?

>>
>>17674272
Hiding would probably antagonize it as acknowledgement. Just keep watching TV.
>>
>>17674272
>>17674279
I think that was to say that making eye contact with the entity would make it go mad on you.

Anyone that played that Silent Hill short game that was cancelled will probably remember a part where you read a leeter ( or some other shit, I cant remember) and a voice says "look behind you".

When you look you see the ghost behind you and gets killed.

The thing there is not to look. Which its make even more difficult because you know there is something evil right behind you, but you should not look at it.

The principle here is the same.

The large scale of the country and its endless tracts of wilderness will benefit those who are prepared. With the overpop of deer and wild pigs, there is more than enough wild animal to sustain many millions of people.

With the right gear and training, it's entirely possible to completely disappear into the wilderness and live indefinitely off the land, in many parts of the country.

It's my opinion that those people who do escape the cities this way will eventually naturally come together and form small groups.

Being a non gun owner with no backup plan and no extra food/water/batteries/fire equipment living in a large urban area is a death sentence.
