Just what the hell are the worm/spider things.
1. did go to ER. sent to real doc the next day (today).
2. 3 ultrasounds done. They seemed confused and mentioned some type of spider as the most likely culprit.

Scraped it or something either in a swimming pool (indoor) or the adjoining playground and duck pond. Noticed it on Sunday, been working every day. Finally on Thursday it decided to balloon my arm and hand up like no freakin tomorrow.l

The ER doc mentioned something about spider hatchling something or other which is why i made the initial spider post.

I called the ER and described this after squeezing/poking and after he stopped yelling, he said the "worm" things are actually some type of mobility appendage (think clam tongue) but he wouldn't tell me exactly what it was cause he can't w/o me there.
On a hopefully unrelated note, one of the most secure bio-research facilities in the US is about 45 mins away....

Guinea worms usually run right down the entirety of one limb, usually the leg, and have one neat exit point. They also cause excruciating pain to the point where the victim is rendered immobile. I am amazed, judging by the photos, that the ER didn't immediately clean the wound and remove all the worms, while also giving you a strong dose of antibiotics; at the very least they should have kept you in for observation. Again, I am amazed that the ER didn't do more to help you. Judging by the tissue damage, it's flesh eating and you may end up losing your arm if not your life. If you're serious you need to make a fire, go outside and light a fire or at least open a window and do it inside or something just get a fire.
You'll need a knife and some tweesers, a scalpel and scissors as well but they are not necessary.
You might want some leather gloves as well.
Heat up the blade of the knife and slowly cut off the infected skin and put it in the fire.
If you can hold your arm over the fire but try not to burn the healthy skin, if you wish, tie a t-shirt around your face so you don't smell the flesh burning.
Keep pads and cloth near by as well as tape or some sort of rope.
YOU MUST be careful not to slice an artery as you'll die in a matter of minutes, if this does occur, apply direct pressure and apply a turnicate just beneath your shoulder, before you do this look up how to make one out of a shirt and pencil/pen/anything sturdy and thin.
You call 9/11 if you slice an artery btw and when you apply the turnicate write down the exact time you put it on yourself (the doc will thank you).
You need to start slicing and dicing yourself but be careful, make sure your hands are steady and your mind is clear.

That's ehat I did a while back when I got something similar to OP.
After swimming in a lake, a patch on my arm started to swell and infect.
For 2-3 days straight I kept cutting into that shit with my knife, cleaning everything as I kept digging deeper until there was nothing left of the patch. After 3 days it stopped growing larger and started healing like a normal wound.

6. I can NOT get enough water. I NEED WATER. I need to be submerged or something, I don't know. It's a strong compulsion I don't understand. I wish i could go home and fucking shower. I keep drinking and peeing and drinking and peeing. It's annoying.

The images in the pictures are blurry, and I can't diagnose over the internet. It looks like a septic infection to me. The fact that the doctors gave him vancomycin supports that. Thats a last resort antibiotic used only for treating antibiotic resistant infections, normally MRSA.
The red raised tissue indicates some degree of fasciitis or celluitous. The wound itself is obviously very infected.
The source of the injury, at a public pool, supports staph infection. Locker rooms, pools, etc, are common places for the bacteria to exist.
OP has a real risk of sepsis, if it has not already set in. He may be very feverish or be entering the early stages of septic shock. A symptom of which is confusion.
At this point it may be touch and go for survival, if I am correct. Sooner medical treatment will increase his chances for survival.
But I am not there, and am basing this off off some blurry pictures, half remembered medications provided by OP, and a description.

Here's a quick rundown:
1. Went to his house, he was there with medical staff who came on the ambulance. They didn't really want to touch him with what they had so they called RML and they sent some random shithead with some hazmat looking suits. Not full on space suits.
2. They gathered him up into the ambulance along with a baggie of worm filled (no , really) gore. Might have been from his arm or vomit or pee or maybe a mixture I don't know.
3. I was at the hospital with him all night as they ran tests on him and me both. I'll post my IV poke marks when I get home.
4. They whisked him into surgery a few minutes ago. They aren't really telling me a whole lot. Lots of confusion, RML guys are in the hospital now too. Quite a few of them. They wouldn't let me anywhere but the room I was in and it was NOT a quarantine room though the staff never came in like they usually do. ONLY a doc with longer than average gloves , a mask and paper scrubs over his normal scrubs.
I have no idea what is going on still. I'm just glad I finally got to go home, it's been almost 24 hours and I have to go back tomorrow.
