Recently I downloaded an app that lets you reverse a recorded sound. So I tried recording words and phrases and then reversing them. I replayed the reversed audio repeatedly, each time reciting along. When I had come to a point where I could say the reversed phrase forwards fluently, I recorded myself and played it backwards. It came out as if I had said it forwards. Have anybody tried this?

>Not knowing The Man from Another Place from the show Twin Peaks
>Not knowing Michael J. Anderson's legendary mad skillz

>The strange cadence of the Man’s dialogue was achieved by having Anderson speak into a recorder. This was then played in reverse, and Anderson was directed to repeat the reversed original. This "reverse-speech" was then reversed again in editing to bring it back to the normal direction. This created the strange rhythm and accentuation that set Cooper’s dream world apart from the real world.

>Anderson recalls that his reverse-speech was not difficult to master as, coincidentally, he had used it as a secret language with his junior high school friends. Series creator David Lynch was unaware of this when he cast Anderson in the part, and had hired a trainer to help Anderson with enunciation. When he found out Anderson could already talk backwards, he canceled the trainer and wrote more difficult lines of dialogue for Anderson to read.

To be honest, Twin peaks is the most/x/ show in existence.
>>
>>17354940

Sounds like "switch liteeb"... there's no "L" in body bra...
>>
>>17355198
I'd say it's a tossup between that an the X-Files, which is better known and didn't have the unfortunate executive meddling that lead to Twin Peak's cancellation, but they're both great shows. Twin Peaks is much more surreal and probably harder for the casual /x/phile to get into, unless they really dig Lynch's weirdness.
>>
>>17355210
Well, you have the "illuminati" running the show in the background (the execs) and the general weirdness of the show, that makes it more /x/ than the X files. The X files are casual/x/ as you have stated and I agree.
>>
>>17355225
Casual doesn't equal bad, though. I'd say The X-Files is probably responsible for the revival of interest in the paranormal during that time period when it first ran, and is also why we call ourselves /x/philes.
>>
>>17355230
I didn't say it was bad. Sorry, too tired to be eloquent. Gillian Anderson was my first waifu after all.
But the X-files didn't age as well as Twin peaks did. Hell, even Doctor Who aged better than X-files in my eyes. I dunno, I might have a higher nostalgia factor for Twin peaks.

Might it be possible for someone to subconsciously interpret a reversed phrase if they hear it?
>>
>>17355208
Try it. Record yourself and reverse it
>>
>>17355266

I have an imagination I don't need to.

Not to mention the "B" sound comes at the end.

Makes no sense.
>>
>>17355266

In fact, why don't YOU record it and show us how it sounds both ways.

It's going to sound like I said; "switch liteeb"
>>
>>17355282
Just tried it, sounded more like "sweetch booidy"
