Learn to breathe....it all starts with breathing.
In 1.2.3.4. Hold 1. Out 1.2.3.4. Hold 1. Practice ths till it becomes natural....the rest will follow. Focus on the breathing...

Don't think about anything. Empty your mind. It's harder than you expect

I found the easiest way to start was to count every time you exhale, restarting after you hit 4. If you count beyond 4, restart once you notice it. This will happen a lot, especially at first. Your head will be buzzing with thoughts. Don't try to suppress them but don't pursue any of them, either. Just focus on counting your breaths.

Yes in a controlled manner, learn to breath instead of gaping for air by a spastic lung reaction to a shortage of oxygen in your brain, learn to control your body instead of bunking through life like a little automaton...you are a special kind of stupid, born by luck arent you...

Gasping (par excuse)

You're just jealous because you don't know how to breath. You're probably hooked up to life support right now, fag.
Seriously though, I perfectly understood what you meant. Just wanted to be a dick.

Ignore everyone else. They don't know anything, and if they do know anything it comes from ancient knowledge given out by Indian Gurus.

This, though I'd recommend starting out by trying to focus on your own breathing and thinking of nothing else to start with. Don't try and focus on how you breath or the duration of each breathe, just keep trying to think of nothing but breathing in and out.
There really isn't a wrong way to meditate, although I'm sure people will contradict me on this.

Correct!
The way to meditate is to focus on the sensations of breath. Not the breath itself.

i thought it was inhale for 4 hold for 4 exhale for 4 etc. etc.?
>>17049375
awareness is key, experience and explore your mind and body instead of trying it to make do stuff - that comes way later depending on your goals and approach

try candle meditation
it's pretty fun once you start experiencing how everything around you except the candle fades into darkness, even if you are practising this in a not really a dark room
