So, I decided to share this with you /x/, because while not really paranormal, it's mostly up your alley. I mean, I did think about "something" toying with me, shadows that attacked me and whatnot, but anyway, here it is. It'll be a long read, and I'm not looking for anything more than if anyone's had any similar experiences, and if there's anyone really into reading dreams and whatnot, please do tell your theory on why no dream tells worked.

Quick info, I rarely sleep during the day. I do not dream a lot ever nor do I ever remember them, also I've tried lucid dreaming for years so I know all the signs to look for.

It all started today, I'm visiting my mom for a month or two cause she's ill and today I went to chill in my bed for a bit cause or cat likes to chill. I was lying there for a good 20 minutes before I even was close to falling asleep, and at this point I feel/hear a sound in my head, almost like a dentist drill but like it was going from ear to ear, just a split second, and I remember thinking "great, now I got brain damage" which is my usual thought when I feel weird in my head. Also, on my left eye when I lying there with my eyes closed, it was almost as if I could make out a fractal pattern in the darkness of my closed eye, I remember thinking this was pretty sweet and I think I actually fell asleep looking at this fractal.

Now what happens is I have 20 dreams within dreams, and I remember each and every single one.

>Dream 1
Wake up in a sofa, don't realize it's not my bed, scared as shit for some reason, go up and things are almost normal, but I wake up when I realize I woke up in a sofa, and not my bed.
>Dream 2
Same thing, even more uneasy.
>Dream 3-5
Same thing, except each dream I am more uneasy, but I keep focusing on my bed so it takes shorter and shorter to realize I woke in my sofa.

>Dream 6
Now here I wake up and I'm wondering if this is happening because I "invoked a bad spirit" or some shit, which in hindsight is hilarious because I don't dabble in the occult, nor do I really believe in it, but I'm literally in this dream asking why did I do it and so on, I'm really freaked out at this point.
>Dream 7
Now here I'm shit scared, and literally the shadows in my room are trying to eat me as soon as I wake up, I remember every second of it, waking up, seeing the shadows moving, remember thinking "this is a dream, I need to wake up", trying to get out of the bed, I do and as I try to walk past it the entire shadows of one wall crawl up and jump out at me, I remember panicking and trying to wave it away (lol) but nope, I wake up instead.
>Dream 8
Wake up in my bed, now I think I'm awake, so I go up and I'm up for a good few minutes, looking at clooks, a book I'm currently reading, no signs of it being a dream. Then I just wake up again, in my bed. Starting to get annoyed
>Dream 9-11
Goes on about the same, with a few minor differences, the toilet of the house being in a different place, different times during the day, different dinners being made and so on but considering I still remember each dream I try more and more to lucid dream each time I wake up, and look after more signs, none. I remember I kept thinking again that perhaps this entity is fucking with me, which is unusual because I don't really buy into that stuff, but the thought came into my head, so I figured I'll check it out online, so I start my laptop and when I get logged in the electricity goes out, and the laptop turns off, I'm talking pitch black, and pop, I'm awake again with my face into my pillow, hence the pitchblack. This is how I felt to sleep, and how I was sleeping the entire time.
>>
>>17042402
>Dream 12-14
Now here as I wake up, I'm in sleep paralysis, I can't move but parts of my body are being moved, like my leg is lifted almost sideways to me and I can't do anything, my arm is lifted and so on, and I can't move. This point I'm thinking I'm in sleep paralysis (I've had it before) and just ride it out.
>Dream 16-19
Now I just assume I'm dreaming when I wake up, I tried running into the wall in my dream, nothing happened. I tried every single thing I've read about lucid dreaming. Nothing works, but considering I remember each dream and I wake up randomly, I keep trying. Nothing seems to indicate it is a dream. I keep waking up after 5 to 30 minutes in these last dreams, and I remember actually doing it all (I went to the toilet, I browsed the net on my laptop etc).
>Dream 20
Now I wake up, I do all the tells first, I start my computer then proceed to the toilet, mom's making dinner (which means I should've been sleeping for 6+ hours, which I felt was logical for such a deep sleep with vivid dreams I usually don't have) and I go to the toilet. I remember the smell of the food she's cooking, I remember my daughter being in the room with her but that didn't strike me as odd (it perhaps should've, since she went to her moms an hour before I went to sleep) I'm in the toilet, reading shampoo bottles, reading the toilet paper labels, anything for dream signs, there are none. I kind of noticed there was more toilet paper than usual, but it didn't strike me, this all felt real. Right up until the last moment of my dream, when I started to whipe, and my shit was pitch black, we're talking blacker than black, and I remember in the dream I panicked over this, and as I panic about it I roll off the toilet, cramps, remember each passing second as thinking, this is it, I'm dying.
>>
>>17042404
And as I'm lying there dying, my mom in the real world (I fucking hope it is anyway) calls out from another room and says "Oh shit, I almost fell asleep" and I wake up, and have been awake for now, 40 minutes. I've been going through each and every dream over and over, and it the most vivid, weird and outright annoying experience I've ever had. What keeps coming back to me is the noise I heard before falling asleep, seeing the fractal and then all these weird ass dreams.
I find it interesting that I would have this noise, see the fractal and then have multiple dreams within dreams, just like a fractal. Perhaps the fact that "I was thinking in fractals" as I fell asleep caused this, idk.

So. Thoughts? Stories? Theories about what dreams like these usually mean?
>>
Nobody?
>>
Wow, deep stuff op, I better not be one of your dreams or I'm gonna be pissed off.
>>
Nobody who knows anything about dreams that has any ideas?
>>
I don't know a lot about dreams but i have one question, have you ever done any hallucinogens or other drugs before?
>>
>>17042408
Way too fucked up for me to wrap my head around, but yeah. Fractals I guess.

Try to control your dreams. That would be awesome.

Otherwise go see a professional about it.
>>
where is op

>>17042942
I'm still here. Putting a trip in case you have questions.
>>
>>17042896
Yeah, back in my youth. Did some LSD a few times and smoked a bunch of weed, but that was maaany years ago.
>>
>>17042980
Do you think your experiences now are affected by your drug experiences of the past?
>>
>>17043024
Well, hard to say. I mean, my drug usage was never more than just for fun, I've always had a job and somewhat of a normal social life (as normal as we weirdos of 4chan can have) and I've never experienced anything like this before, not even remotely close even days after trips or such.
And then I never did anything besides weed and LSD, I was never into meth or any of the drugs that really fuck you up, yes, I know LSD can fuck up your mind, but I always had a blast with not lasting effects.

I mean, I can't rule it out, that would be naive of me, but considering it was such a long time ago I even did drugs, and the fact that I haven't really "seen fractals" or had weird dreams like these, I mean, not to this extent. I've experienced waking up in a dream, but not multiple times and not this intense, with this clear memory of every single dream, even right now I can remember it all, and like I said, usually I don't remember dreams, and if I do it's just fragments which disappear from my memory within an hour or so, and even then it's usually what I can piece together of a few key events in said dream, this time I can recall basically every sensation, including the "sleep paralysis" part where my leg and arm was moved, how it looked and felt when my leg was 90 degrees out from my body and so on.
>>
>>17043062
Hell, I still remember exactly how the food my mother was cooking looked and smelled, I still remember small pieces like paprika was sticking out from one of the beefs that had broken apart, exactly what color brown the gravy was and honestly I don't think I'd even remember details like that in real life.
>>
>>17043069
Interesting af.

So basically I'm wondering, on a philosophical level, what is the meaning of inceptions? Wouldn't it not matter whether you were dreaming of dreaming or not?

Are you stressed in your life? Maybe anxieties?
>>
>>17043094
Yeha, I guess you could say I have some anxieties at the moment, or rather I have had for years but it's really nothing I can't handle.

To me, I find the fact that it happened so many times in a row, within the same dream, to be quite alarming. I mean, after the initial few dreams my first thought as I woke up into another dream was "I better not be dreaming again" and trying to figure out if it was a dream. In hindsight each dream had a few tells right from the get go, but as I learned each tell, like with the sofa, I still couldn't get out from the dream.

I mean, when I did awake into this reality I'm in now, I went through the exact same motions, even expecting to "wake up" again, looking at clocks and books. In my mind, I was almost sure THIS was a dream because it had happened so many times, and the hilarious thing is I just slept for about an hour I think, and the time that passed in my dreams (all of them together) was at least two-three hours, and I can remember it as if it was two-three hours, no real dream haze anywhere.
>>
>>17043167
I'd get that checked out with a doctor, because that doesn't sound normal at all.
>>
>>17043167
I think the biggest thing that bugs me is the fact that in the rare case that I do remember a dream, there is always something major that just in hindsight makes it obvious it was a dream. But with a few of these dreams, especially towards the end, there was just nothing off in most of those dreams, it was just me, in something that felt, smelt and looked as real as this, trying to figure out if I was really awake.

Also, how often have you dreamt that you had sleep paralysis? Isn't that explained by your mind being awake but your body not or something like that? I experienced that within a dream, also I forgot to mention that while I was having that sleep paralysis, the "bad spirit" or whatever from early on in the dream-sequences came to mind as well, as if it was "it" toying with me.

Overall though, I'm gonna say it was a very interesting experience. If anything, I just got very annoyed of just waking up over and over again. Felt like Groundhog Day: Dream Edition for a while there.

>>17043197
I guess, but what am I gonna say? I had a dream inception and most of those dreams felt just as real as this does and some of them was full of evil spirits, and let's not forget moms cooking and crazy shadow. But then again, the weird noise and fractal pattern before it might indicate something bad, which I guess wouldn't be too bad to look up just to be on the safe side. If I hadn't have had that weird noise and fractal pattern before, I don't think I would've been so freaked out about it, but the fact that I did see fractals before falling asleep, and then dreaming as a fractal is just plain weird.

Hell, perhaps the first fractal was even the first dream? I can't pinpoint exactly when I fell asleep, can I?
>>
>>17043206
>Hell, perhaps the first fractal was even the first dream? I can't pinpoint exactly when I fell asleep, can I?
I mean, it's pretty interesting when you think about it. What if that noise I heard was actually me falling asleep? I wonder if the brain actually interprets falling asleep as a noise, it's just that normally the brain "shuts off" before falling asleep, if you understand where I'm getting at. This just failed for me this time around, and the fact that I saw a fractal was just my brain going "oh shit, brace yourself".

Also, I'm gonna throw in another thing that really irked me from when after I woke up for real. My mother, who despite getting pretty old and having shit memory, isn't really Alzheimers yet, asked me why I poured up a glass of coke when I didn't drink it. I answer that I did drink it, and bring the glass I distinctly remember pouring myself earlier today and drinking up, showing her it was empty and that she was mistaken, to which she basically says "No you didn't" and tells me there's a full glass in the kitchen. Well, color me surprised, there actually was a full glass of coke in the kitchen, on the counter, but a colored one.

Now, let's get crazy for a moment here, there's two ways this probably happened.
Let's do the crazy first, what if I could've actually been sleep walking, like I said, my mother woke me when she called out that she almost fell asleep, now chances are she did fall asleep and what's to say that me in this weird state of dreaming and not dreaming didn't actually get up, pour myself a glass of coke then just blanking out and walking back to my bed, to "reset the cycle" or whatever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_awakening check the section "Continuum", I started to read about this shit after today.

But the logical explanation here is just that my mom probably just wanted coke, poured a glass then just forgot about it. I'm like, 99% sure this is what happened, but hey, fun to speculate?
>>
Sounds like your brain shut itse;f off and went on a loop to protect your body and dreamscape from whatever caused it.
>>
>>17043530
Sounds interesting, considering this is /x/, care to elaborate? One could think you're referring to either a brain tumor or a demon..
