People tried climbing the pass. They stopped in the night to camp. During the night they went crazy. Stripped off their clothes and tore out the back of their tent. A woman bit out her tongue. They were found dead in the snow. Their hair was white. The people in towns nearby said they saw bright lights flashing around the pass.

The entire area was used for Russian weapon testing as well. Possibly still in use.
