Greetings, and welcome to The /x/ Files, the weekly news digest for 4chan's Paranormal board. Every Sunday, we take a quick snapshot of the mysterious world around us and bring it, in an easily readable magazine format, to the board. I am The Editor, the anonymous creator of this idea and collector of the news that will be following below. In the interests of legitimacy, I will be using a secure tripcode to post the thread; once the posts are completed, I will take the tripcode off and return to my anonymity.

It's Thanksgiving weekend here on /x/, and the news is sadly in short supply. However, we do have follow-ups on three of our previous stories, a couple new mysteries, and the usual roundup of radio shows and podcasts. Hope your turkey turned out as juicy as mine, as we delve into Issue Three of The /x/ Files!

No, ISS astronaut Scott Kelly did not take a picture Of a UFO

It probably isn’t clear, but the little grey cylinder that kind of looks like an unlabeled tuna can is the UHF antenna module installed on the Destiny module aboard the ESA. That tuna can is also highly reflective, and so if there’s either sunlight falling on the ISS or external lights from the ISS itself turned on, you’re going to see a couple of bright spots shining off of that module. And in low resolution photographs, looks precisely like the anomaly found in Kelly's Twitter post.

As much as we might like to believe the sensational, it’s far more important to be cautious, and to make sure we exhaust all the mundane possibilities before admitting the spectacular. As Richard Feynman was so keen to remind us all, "The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool."

Inquiry into the Titanic staffed by Freemasons

A new secret archive shows a high level of masonic involvement in the inquiry into the sinking of the Titanic - not only the judge who oversaw the British Wreck Commissioner’s inquiry into the disaster and leading investigators, but also even some of those who escaped censure were all Freemasons.

A secret archive containing the names of two million freemasons has been opened to the public for the first time. The list, seen by the Telegraph, could lead to a re-examination of almost 200 years of British history, by revealing the extent of Masonic influence in the upper reaches of society at the height of Britain’s imperial grandeur. Records being published online by the genealogy service Ancestry contain the names of royalty, statesmen and thousands of other influential figures including judges, police, military top brass, lawyers and bishops.

On the military field, those listed range from the Duke of Wellington to Lord Kitchener. In the arts it includes writers such as Oscar Wilde and Rudyard Kipling; the actor Sir Henry Irving while names from the musical world include both Gilbert and Sullivan. The explorers Ernest Shackleton and Captain Robert Falcon Scott also feature while scientists listed range from Edward Jenner, the pioneer of vaccines, to Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin.

Glastonbury myths made up by 12th-century monks

A four year study by archaeologists has comprehensively demolished cherished myths about one of the most romantic religious sites in England, Glastonbury Abbey. The oldest church in England was not built there by Christ’s disciples; Joseph of Arimathea’s walking stick does not miraculously flower every Christmas after 2,000 years. And it turns out that the supposed link with King Arthur is false too – invented by 12th-century monks faced with a financial crisis in the wake of a disastrous fire.

Furthermore, the team of 31 specialists, led by Roberta Gilchrist, professor of archaeology at the University of Reading, found that generations of her predecessors working at the abbey were so bewitched by the legends that they either suppressed or misinterpreted evidence that did not fit.

'Ghost ships' baffle authorities in Japan

Strange 'ghost ships' have been reported during October and November, with not a single surviving crew member, a coastguard spokesman said. The mysterious ships, which started to show up along the coast of Japan back in October, have been the subject of an ongoing investigation with officials desperate to unravel their secrets. To date 11 ships have turned up, some showing signs of damage - and each with its entire crew found deceased. Some of the vessels also appeared to have been adrift for quite some time.

Mounting evidence suggests Queen Nefertiti's burial chamber is hidden in King Tut’s tomb

Archaeologist Nicholas Reeves believes the illustrious Egyptian queen has been hiding in plain sight, within a large chamber behind a concealed door in the tomb of King Tutankhamun, which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. Recent scientific surveys of the ancient building have found tantalizing clues that are consistent with Reeves’ theories. A survey of the ancient building last September found evidence indicating the existence of two previously undiscovered rooms. “First of all, we saw that on the ceiling itself there’s a distinct line,” Reeves says. He explains that in the room that contains Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus, the line on the ceiling perfectly matches the section of wall that appears to have been plastered over.

Two months later, another survey of the tomb was conducted using infrared thermography, which measures temperature distributions on a surface. According to Mamdouh el-Damaty, the Egyptian Minister of Antiquities, “The preliminary analysis indicates the presence of an area different in its temperature than the other parts of the northern wall.” One possible explanation is that the variation in temperature is, in effect, an infrared shadow of an open area behind the wall.

Glad to see this show getting some recognition around here.
Who /ExpandedPerspectives/ here?
>>
thanks editor
>>
>>17023958

Unless you're dealing with a responding party that has its own vested or otherwise interest in the matter, most of what you're gonna get is a press release.

I had no experience in my life that was dealing with something weird or paranormal, i just think that there's a whole level of the world that people are unexposed to, which is wrong.

MSM makes a point to push that out of the narrative, i've had several 10k letter papers on Pedowood (Dutraux) that were D-Noticed by the higher ups. I mean upstairs brass, not the newsroom shift boss,

Good job, keep it up.
Maybe post a dedicated e-mail so anons can send you info and leads.

I did the same thing for a while, though it was every night.
Nobody really cared, since they would rather worry about the end of the world or some fortune telling crap.
>>
>>17025430

If I did it every night, I'd very quickly burn out or get discouraged myself. Since it's once a week, people will eventually begin anticipating it, and it keeps the actual workload of it manageable.

It's all about tenacity. Nobody starts out an instant success, you have to put effort into your task. So here's hoping OP has that stubborn streak he needs to make this thing work.
