Murder House: is pretty good, very cheesy at times and really tries too hard to edgy but it's entertaining and fun.
Asylum: legitimately creative and well written, absurdly dark and disturbing and even a little scary. It still tries at times too hard to be edgy.
Coven: really boring and bland. The characters are all shite and basically the actors are playing characters they have always played. I liked the idea of a series that would be less serious than the last but god damn that was shit.
Freak Show: a poorman's Carnivale. Some solid stories and some solid characters but it feels a bit like a generic season of the show. (I thought the point of an anthology series was that each season would be different). Instead it feels like each season of this show is the same but just with a different skin.

They put WAY too much story in a such a small space for Asylum. Had they removed the alien part then it would have been about the right amount of story, this is where the writers/directors always seem to fail with the show.
Murder House had a lot of stories but you could easily tell which one was the primary and which were just fluff, probably the best season.
Coven, I thought this was the second best season, maybe even beats Murder House in some spots. It's supposed to be cheesy but has some pretty good story line to it...unfortunately again...they shoved too much story into the short amount of time they have per season; had they removed the evil baby stealing douche then it would have been much better.
Freak Show - first 3-4 episodes were great....then just down hill in almost all aspects, didn't even finish the season....it all just seemed forced. The best part though was the cover Sarah Paulson did, that was pretty awesome...didn't really fit with the rest of the show though.
Hotel, I've watched about 2-3 episodes mostly as background noise and it seems like they're pushing the vampire chick as some "super sexy vampire" but it falls pretty flat for obvious reasons. Maybe they can pull it together within a few episodes and stop focusing on the actress they paid soo much money for.
Overall probably a 6.5/10

Nah, 2nd had James Cromwell, which was awesome...but they just screwed the pooch with the alien garbage. The alien shit could have been a whole different season, not forced into the Asylum.

I like a lot of the concepts for Coven. The living voodoo doll was pretty awesome, and the rest of the voodoo bits in general were appealing. But it was too much teen drama crap. I would have liked to see more of Legba though, I enjoy stuff with old gods do what they do.
The only reason I even liked Coven, also Lizzie Brochere in Asylum
I only really enjoyed the show because of these 2 actresses, although I have to say Murder House was far more superior than any of the other seasons.
