The Ayy Lmao's want the world's resources, and they are just a scout fleet. The Nazi's want world power, and have ties to the 13 bloodlines, the Masons and the Illuminati to this day. Once the Nazi Party obtains global power, the Ayy Lmao's will harvest mankind (aside from the Nazis) and drill into the earth's core, with their advanced technology.

Humans are work monkeys with limited intelligence.
We get into small spaces, we have dexterous hands, we can run and march long distances without getting tired, we have highly developed mechanical intuition, we can understand language through several different senses (touching, hearing, seeing), we are highly trainable, we have fantastic memories (though not many of us on earth develop them), we can organize to achieve goals requiring years of preparation and follow through, we are honorable and gullible, loyal and determined, a crown achievement of their breeding programs. A human can drive a sword without guilt into the brains of his enemies, only to return home and put his child tenderly to sleep.
Our purpose is very obviously to work, entertain and fight if need be. We were sent to work in mines, early in our species history. Once our planet was depleted, they left us here.
They are among us and direct our politics. Their chief aim is to stop any progress in self-programming or hybrid artificial intelligences, and to prevent self-destruction.
We are very useful and loved like dogs.

Ish. We're also mish mashes of DNA or whatever passes for biological information from around the galaxy. We're unpredictable, which is kind of the point. Definitely some worker monkey genes in place, but also some as yet undiscovered attributes. Intelligence is... on a broad scale. Brains are relatively compact, yet neurotransmitters run the length of the entire body and manifest emergent intelligence, not dissimilar to an octopus' tentacles. But only in individuals that have given up the myth of a singular personality. (This myth is the habit that concentrates intelligence into a single seat, located at the densest pocket of neurotransmitters, typically the brain.)
The pet-like relationship is one created by the humans ourselves. At the moment it's entirely up to each individual how they wish to proceed with their contact experience. The only thing the individual can't choose, is how they want contact to proceed for others, and bo~ooy did it take a long time to iron out that specific detail. "Define others." Sheesh!
