I’d like some advice please /x/.
>Abused as a kid, hated home, ran away and never really looked back
>31 years old now, successful (run a small financial service business remotely), but I don’t want to settle down
>Have an apartment but prefer to live rough – generally sleep in remote churches – will be out and on the road for weeks at a time
Been living this life for around 12 years. Always been happy, never felt threatened (beyond the odd drunk/s looking to kick a homeless dude in), but take precautions when I’m out. I always sleep centrally in church spaces (often using the pew as cover) to give me the most exit options if I need to leave in a hurry. Always have a knife, always have a torch, etc.
Last night:
>Found my way into an abandoned church (built in 1300s, restored in 1600s, abandoned since 1960) which is maintained for the few visitors it gets each year
>Very remote – c.18 miles from any useful population centre (my favourite kind of church)
>Normally I find these spaces very relaxing – arrive at about 4pm, the sun begins to go down
>Have a drink from a hip flask (double whisky) and settle down with some writing
>Start to prepare for sleep at 7:30pm (usually sleep around 8pm to 4am, leave by 5am)
>Out like a light a little after 8pm, remember feeling very peaceful as I drifted off
