Blade Runner
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

After watching 3/4 which were pure dogshit and hardly had that unnerving feeling of the original 2 at all, 5 was proper unnerving and even scary at parts. A shame they ballsed it up with 6 again. And don't even get me started on Deader/Hellworld or revelations.

Yeah, but those computers dont check every possible move. They learn which moves are likley to be made by the human and which moves would counter it. Making a computer that actually checks every single move to get the mathmatically perfect move would be impossible with todays technology (Maybe with quantum computing in the future, maybe). Basically they do what Humans do and just remember which moves have worked for them in the past. It's just that they probably have 8 Petabytes of storage or something stupid like that, so they have a lot more experiences to pull from. Dude in webm was kinda right telling his robot friend to just make a move instead of waiting for the perfect one.

>>

Kenneth Branagh directed it - famous for making all of the best theatrical interpretations of Shakespeare's works. Thor is a theatrical interpretation of a comic book character presented as a film, complete with the drama you see in theater, especially emphasized by the focus on conflicts of blood. You probably wouldn't see any similarities between Thor and the hubris of King Lear or the jealousy of Othello, but then again you've probably never read a book outside of school.

You probably didn't know any of that because you're a barely coherent, shit-spewing twelve year old on the internet who thinks his opinion matters just because he has a place to voice it.

If you don't like something, say it, but let's not pretend that you have even the faintest understanding of what makes a plot 'good', or how to write dialogue that resonates, or how to film a scene in a way that makes the audience connect with the violent emotions of the characters.

It's completely possible you'll reply with a well-thought out, insightful rebuttal, but if I had to guess, you're going to resort to name calling because it's the only thing you learned in school - how to be an ignorant loud mouth that can't carry on a conversation.

Person of interest has some good moments but the show is so badly done it's hard to enjoy them. It's bad at character, bad at plot (deus ex machina is just an normal episode ending at this point with some shitty rabbit out of the hat twist at the end). Bad Guys are laughably evil and chaotic and the action, oh God the action. It's as bad as an old James Bond movie without the cheesiness, the charm or the allure.

To this day I don't know why I haven't stopped watching before the current season. The scene where Root and Shaw try to have sex was the last straw. It was so fucking cringy I had to stop the episode mid-viewing and delete the entire folder.

Universe isn't infinite faggot by all laws of physics and mathematics (this is ridiculously rigorously well-established), even if it turns out that it's larger than the observable horizon. The number of atoms in the observable universe is a known order of magnitude, no matter how much dark matter or black holes or shit is found (none are atomic (i.e. baryonic (or close enough)), and any other types of unobserved baryonic matter will not be enough to change the order of mag).

>>1172059
I agree PoI was way overrated. Especially shitty as a serial, but did have some decent sci fi elements. I think you're wrong about the characters being bad, other than the main dude, who should have died (he was apparently supposed to be offed in Season 4 instead of Shaw, but Shahi got preggers). Root/Shaw was a fucking fantastic relationship though pretty much until this season, but the sex scene itself was actually pretty satisfying in that it was sensibly violent, and that the ep turned out to be fake.

JoJo, from the looks of it. Part 4 maybe.
>>
>>1173317
There are some rules about ending chess games depending on the number of peices left and what they are. Also i think there is one where if either side doesn't take a piece for 30 turns they will call it a tie.

Skeletor:

>Yes. I feel it. The power fills me.
>Yes, I feel the universe within me.
>I am--I am apart of the cosmos. It flows--flows through me.

>Of what consequence are you now? This planet, these people, they are NOTHING to me. The universe is POWER! Pure, unstoppable POWER! And I am that force! I am that power!

>Kneel before your master! Fool. You are no longer my equal. I am more than man. More than LIFE.

>I. Am. A . God.

>Now. You. Will. KNEEL!

The structure is mostly the problem, which is cultural. Also Republicans block school funding every year.

But liberal unions protect teachers who don't teach. So basically everyone is retarded.

Also in game theory you usually consider those infinite-loop situations a type of degenerate state and count it as a single possible outcome.

>Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment

No they don't. If you take a population of deer and wolves and kill all the wolves, the deer will multiply until they've exhausted the entire food supply in their area
>>
>>1170011
So many inaccurate statements in that speech, can't believe it got so much praise
>>
>>1174107
And then the deer will die off and the food will return
>>
>>1174119
Same thing happens with humans, we have famines all the time. In either case there's no "instinct" to form an equilibrium, it's just "reproduce as much as you can"
>>
>>1174119
thats not instinctively establishing equilibrium, thats doing what they usually do but while starving to death
>>
>>1167240
As a Manhattan resident who has been to Coney Island quite a few times, I loved this movie. There's also a scene when a group is running in Harlem and they run by a Pizza shop. That Pizza shop is still up and running to this day!
>>
>>1174119
Right, it's mathematics, not instinct. The deer will reproduce and deplete resources by sheer greed -- that's their instinct -- until they hit carrying capacity, which by the way will in this displacement scenario continually decrease while resources are depleted by the artificially overpopulated deer, thus the deer will not only lack nutrients for reproduction, but will starve to death en masse and not recover until resources return, Species can and do become extinct in this process.

Also note the damage from invasive species. Those introduced by humans are well-documented, but invasions happen by accidental migration all the time in longer timescales, and plenty of species get wiped out that way. For example, a shitload of megafauna were wiped out in Australia well after the Ice Age but well before humans arrived.

It's not irrefutable at all. It's highschool-tier, agenda-driven biblical interpretation which not only assumes the Bible to be a literal text (an idea that is almost universally rejected by theologians throughout history) but also completely ignores the existence of the New Testament which supersedes much of what is being referred to.

It's propaganda, nothing more. It begins by mischaracterising the conservative position as "beause the Bible says so!", despite the wealth of jurisprudential arguments and historical antecedents of which it is actually comprised, and then procedes to tear down this self-made strawman by pronouncing a selective and shallow interpretation of the Bible. The purpose of the scene is clear--make religious and/or conservative beliefs seem ignorant and irrational while making their opposition seem learned and rational. It's utterly contrived.
>>
>>1174782
Guys it's just lost in translation guys. The same way that the entire of Islam is lost in translation, they dont ACTUALLY want you to burn your mother for being a witch, it's just a metaphore. Also, conservative positions actually are just "because the bible said so". That is litterally all it comes down to every time.

"Oh you cant do that, it's immoral"
"Who said it is immoral"
"Me"
"Where do you get your moral guidlines from"
"The bible"

From American Psycho:

There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.

ye, people can't come up with moral guidelines on their own. Impossible.
>>
>>1174912

One could argue (very very basically) there is justice innate in physics, or natural laws that apply equally to equal things. Thus the fallacy is in associating such concepts with something material, whereas a construct as completely theoretical (but actually physically required, 1:1) as a law is no less real.

That does not change how stupid that saying is, because it is ALWAYS used wrongly. The sun alone is ~1.19x10^57 hydrogen atoms. Our sun is not even particularly big, and there are hundreds of trillions of suns within our Hubble sphere.

People will say shit like, "That is larger than the number of electrons in the universe!" when a number is to the 63rd power. It's ridiculously unintentional hyperbole usually said by people who should know better.
>>
>>1174991
If god came down from the heavens today, right this moment, and said all the religions on earth are wrong and he honestly doesn't give a shit if you kill eachother or whatever, would you immediatley walk out the front door of your house and start fucking massacaring everyone. No, you wouldn't, because evolotion has made us have an inate moral compass as we are tribal being. If we only cared about our selfs there wouldn't be civilization today. Back when we were banging sticks on rocks we would have all killed eachother for food and to eliminate the compotition. Now you could say that the reason we help other is out of self interest (you scratch my back i'll scratch yours kinda thing) and you'd probably be right, but that doesn't change the fact that humans don't like killing other humans unless they have a good reason for it. There are 2 reasons for religion to exist, for control of the population by less than well meaning dictators (see North Korea), and for people to delude themselfs so they feel better. Every religion exists for atleast one of these reasons (most being both).

Are you fucking retarded? The entire religious reasoning behind evangelicals believing homosexuality is wrong is due to a literal interpretation in the old testament.

There's nothing contrived with quoting other literal statements from the old testament that modern christians no longer practice and to show the hypocrisy of picking and choosing what should be practiced from the old testament.

God damn you're a fucking idiot.
