The first stage is fuckin' awesome, but only because it's just this dude who doesn't know or give a shit about cars that ends up beating all these racers that think they're the best, after that he runs into actually challenging people, they still make it cool but the mystery and element of surprise the 86 brought was the entire reason I watched it. I really wish they did more with his dad tho, I hoped to see him race in at least a flashback or something. Oh and they do some weird shit with the first love interest.
