At this rate you are still going to be able to use an artisan sharpened pencil more often than your pencil.

I can literally think of nothing more pointless and asinine then dedicating yourself to sharpening fucking pencils. I thought I had found the lowest fucking point when I started watching that Mario 64 guy for yelling at his audience for not understanding what a half A press was.
But this, this is a level of Autism I can barely even comprehend. I'm completely flabbergasted. I applaud 4chan tonight, because I think I've found the most useless profession/hobby/interest fucking EVER.
I mean Jesus fucking Christ.

There really needs to be a looping option for webms. Several webms in this thread would be better as gifs since they are short and meant to be looped.

download 4chan addon and you'll be able to just play webm/gif or even resize photo while still on board by just clicking on it, it loops then

Why have two blades go back and forth, as opposed to having:
- One circular motion above the machine that brings a single blade straight up and down.
- One circular motion, say the left of the two here for simplicity, with two blades (cutting twice per full rotation).
>>1139755
Either it's more consistent this way, or it's designed for longevity of the device itself.
>>1139755
things that are always moving in the same direction (instead of back-and-forth) are harder to wear out

Also, if you see where the dough lands, it's distributed width-wise on that surface that they are landing on instead of them all just being on a straight line. That may be desirable depending on what follows on the assembly line.

it looks like the cutting arm is using a joint that will allow it to rotate and point different directions, but not translate. so they would make the bottom part move to:
>make sure the piece stays the correct distance away from the cutting head
>make sure the sides of the cut are straight up and down
>make any shape other than just a circle
those are just my guesses. it's hard to tell what exactly is going on from a 3 second gif. i also don't know why they would use a cutting head that couldn't traverse.
No gif or webm, but still fukken cool.

Plasma cutting has a fairly predictable kerf angle: the cut is not perfectly vertical all the way through the metal. That cut pattern looked like it took the kerf angle of the cut and made sure it was perpendicular to the material face. This looks much nicer on the finished part.

You realise these both could be hooked up and driven by a single circular motion and power source? And as other anon said, its a lot less strain having a motion constantly go forward rather than needing to break the momentum, bring the blade up, break the momentum again, and push it downward for the cut.
As for the second idea, currently you have two lines if its relevant. Having two separate nodes cutting also reduces strain on the individual parts.
