During the best year of my life. I went to Japan. When I was travelling there, I was stuck inside a lodge inside a small town in rural Hakone. There was a typhoon, and I was rained in. Nothing to do but watch the rain hit the forest trees and the mountainside. I'd downloaded a bunch of movies onto my laptop for the flight over, but never got around to watching them. Blade Runner was one of them. I'd never seen the film.
Watching this film, in that place, at that time in those circumstances. It was incredible.
I still think back to that time, and it makes me tear up just thinking about it. How genuinely content I was. This scene still makes me cry like a fucking kid.

Listen to the normal version (the girl sings a different version). Most translations out there are terrible, completely change the song (that I love) so I made this one, things in [~] are there because you can't really translate them into the lyrics from Russian (they're implied by grammar).
When we were at war (x2)
There each thought about his love or wife (x2)
And I of course could have thought (x2)
When I looked at my pipe; its' blue smoke (x2)
[I could have thought about] how you lied to me [at some time] (x2)
That you have given your maiden heart to another [some time ago] (x2)
Yet I thought of nothing at all (x2)
I just smoked my pipe with my harsh Turkish tobacco (x2)
I only wait for a true bullet (x2)
To conclude my misery and to end our conflict (x2)
When we will be at war (x2)
I will fly to meet the bullets on my raven-black horse (x2)
But it looks like death is not for me (x2)
And again my raven-black horse carries me (away/from) the fire (x4)

Do you have Digital Love? Fuck man, you got me with that, been listening to Daft Punk since I was a wee lad.
I've been so torn up with this for so long. I get high every day and stay drunk for weeks at a time. It's past 4 am and I still cant roll over and just sleep. I just stare. The worst days are when I wake up crying. Nightmares. Not the scary ones where you are being chased or attacked. The good ones. The one's where I wake up and don't realize it was just a dream. When I'm happy. I feel loved. She was there in my dream. The warmth from her smile still fills my body and her voice still lingers. Those are worst then the dreams I scream myself awake from in a sweat. I wake up feeling like I'm in love again, loved back too. I realize then that it was a dream. Life shatters again, leaving me with a betrayed feeling. That. That's the worst nightmare. The happy ones.

I hate to be that asshole, but the book was so much goddamn better than that movie. The parts with the dog in the book are absolutely heartbreaking, and the entire story has a much more psychological edge to it.
Also, the movie never really justifies why it's called I Am Legend. You learn at the very end of the book why it's called that.
>>1086227
Not this, anything but this. I can withstand any of these feels but every man turns into a faucet to this one.
If you want to destroy a man, take his dog.
Why does it just feel like it's not worth it. I feel like no matter how high the high points of life are it will just plummet lower again. My uncle died a few years ago, my grandmother six months ago, my brother in law committed suicide four months ago, my grandmother's sister who is like another grandmother to me is getting old and weaker and she'll be gone, then my other grandparents, then my parents, then my friends and siblings. Family gatherings and holidays aren't as big or festive as they used to be. Relatives and friends seem to be spreading apart. I have little money, I finally got a shit job that I hate after months of unemployment.
It just feels so pointless. I might climb a mountain or fall in love but the ones I love will die and tragedies will happen. It just feels like those high points will never outweigh these coming low points. I would never kill myself after seeing what it does to the families affected. I possibly have a long life full of sadness with spots of joy scattered along. Chasing those good times doesn't seem like any way to live.

"The ones I love will die and tragedies will happen."
"Chasing those good times doesn't seem like any way to live."
You're not wrong.
Start here: If they're going to die anyways, why do you love them?
Life is in the present for a reason.
Lao Tzu puts it like this:
“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present."
Stop pretending like everything has to be perfect for you to have an excuse to be happy.

Don't worry about death.
Death is a good thing.
The fact that no one will remember you is good.
Nothing you do will matter in the long run, not even the slightest bit
You are totally free to do whatever you want, don't be scared, live now and enjoy what you can enjoy. No matter what you do wrong, you won't have to suffer from it for eternity
Unless you're christian, because god says fuck you and sends you to a burning hell for all eternity if you touch a penis and you like it

Apart from the introduction, all of the radio chatter is panic and calling for help. >>1091234
>we are. thats why it matters
This, some people get terrified over the thought of Aliens, I get terrified that we're alone. Imagine that we're the only planet in the universe with life larger than a microbe, the only planet in the universe with things that are capable of seeing, listening, singing, thinking.
What if our island in space is all there is? If we fuck up, that could be it, nothing will ever love again.
