Did they intentionally use the same design as the most famous ceremonial sword used in executions in Saudi Arabia? It's always hard to judge the level of commentary in something like this. It could easily just be something someone copied for how it looked with no further meaning at all, but honestly, in this case, it feels like a subtle and rather scathing commentary on the region. They go from dancing and displaying the blades, to raising them towards each others throats, threateningly, then more dancing, then raising them again, menacing the audience.

Can't tell if sarcasm. Honestly the CG in Aikatsu is a good compromise, the quality improves tremendously over the course of the show and becomes not only watchable, but enjoyable by season 2.
By then the models look good, the choreography is fun and they start incorporating neat lighting effects, and the animation is just smooth overall. Kinda surprised how abysmal Love Live's CG is in comparison despite being way more popular, guess Sunrise just didn't give a shit in their case.
