Hey faggots.
I just applied for a job in Finland, Turku, and I am almost 100% sure I will be the chosen one. Meanwhile, as I am waiting for their reply, I am getting more and more excited over the fact of moving there (I fell in love with the country a few years ago, during my 9-months stay in Vaasa).
Please, post whatever Finnish stuff you have - flags, landscapes, Finnish culture... I want to make it a wallpaper slide show to make my waiting more pleasant.
Love ya, Suomi.

Vaasa you say? I have lived here all my life. Beautiful town. Shame that I have only these pictures with shitty resolution from here. Godspeed though, hopefully you get chosen. Turku is a decent town too.

Same'ish place from a different direction and during a day. You can see the tower from first pic in the middle of this picture.
One more.

Welcome to Turku, "the asshole of Finland" as we call it in Finland :D

Oh holy mother of gawd, I spent like, zillions of hours in both the Havtornen and Tritonia library, and used to cross Replot bridge every once in a while too. <3
You just gave me so many nostalgia feelz, damn it.
>>6573139
I am looking forward to seeing it in the reality. Saved.
>>6573186
That shit's surprisingly delicious. I liked it a lot.
Moar!!
>>6573207
Yes? I never actually use it.
>>6573614
Glad you like those. That second picture is taken actually like 200m from Tritonia. Beautiful places if you like sea.
Just checked if I still had some photos that I took when I was testing out a cheap camera before one trip. Found some and they're also taken close to Tritonia. Quality isn't good in these ones either but meh, 1/4.

3/4 "super moon" with some filter on i guess?
4/4 same moon without filters. Resolution was a bit high on this and on the third pic.. Oh and just to clarify, I'm this guy >>6572517
view from my parents house in mid january
Not quite from Turku/Vaasa direction. Roughly the same latitude as Vaasa though.

I've been walking around Tritonia during breaks, so I know that place quite well. I love all the pictures you post. Keep posting if you want to share more stuff, I enjoy it a lot.
(Also, I am not the one who asked for Skype).
Took this earlier today, edit it a bit and it might look decent
>>6574556
Is that Vaasa as well?
>>6574634
No idea but your pic is from Asevelikylä. Did you visit that place called "Edvinin polku" where are a lot of those statues you can see in your pic?
I actually should test one camera for a school project soon. If we get good weather here in the weekend, I might take some pics for the lulz and since someone actually enjoys them.. ^^

I'm moving to Helsinki from Colorado this July
I don't even have a job yet but I have family who'll take care of me until I get one.
>>6574918
Awesome picrel, I haven't seen that place.
And about the teapot thingy - I did not visit that place in particular. I was just passing by, thinking of something else, when suddenly as I looked up, there was this big-ass teapot in the middle of fuckin' nowhere.

Go for it, Finland is great. Just be warned - Helsinki looks kinda like Russia to me.
>>6575729
Helsinki's cool

Don't tell me you're doing the Dell thing...
>>6575729
That picture is from place called "Vanha Vaasa" (Old Vaasa) and there are some ruins left from a fire that destroyed the place long time ago.
I know that the teapot thingy and those statues are a bit odd and there's actually this "naturepath" thingy that is full of those statues. It's a nice place to walk in during the summer.

I've been in Vanha Vaasa just once, and to be honest I do not remember much, so I will go there again if I have a chance.

I live and study in Turku, welcome to a irl circlejerk of a city.
>>6577533
Any survivral tips about Turku?
>>6572390
There was this choir exchange program at my school with Turku. I've hosted 2 girls and we got wasted every night for a week, it was nice.
They invited me to stay at their place in Turku, but the plane tickets are kinda expensive in the summer, and I'm pretty sure I'll freeze to death if I go in the winter.

There's actually nothing else to see besides those ruins.
I tested that camera that I was gonna use in one timelapse project and the pictures were mediocre at best. The one that I took when it got darker had quite a lot of noise in it. 1/2

Has anyone been to the war museums in Finland? I really want to go and view artifacts from WWII and The Winter War as well as your Civil War.
Welcome. Here's picture i took yesterday. With phone.. Sadly.
I live 50km from Turku. It's nice in here.
>>6579092
It's so pretty, thank you a lot, Vaasanon. I am still waiting for Turku's reply. If I get there, I will *definitely* visit Vaasa on some weekend.
>>6579797
I've seen lots of post-russian "souvenirs" while traveling through Western coast of Finland - lots of old Russian "graffiti" carved on stones where the military stayed, some old bunkers and so on.
>>6580483
Kind of boring picture. Thank you though.
>>6572390
how can you fall in love with Vaasa it's not even such a nice city :(
>>6572390
It is not a bad city either. It reminds me of the overwhelming feeling of freedom and peaceful solitude. I liked the wide streets, lots of nature (compared to other European cities), and Gulf of Bothnia. Also, I loved the culture, Vaasan people, and the general atmosphere there. Your Universities are like, 10/10: high quality of both teaching and buildings/organization. It is hard to describe why, but even though I did not feel like at home, I still enjoyed living there and it would be lovely to be able to come back.
