I used the CyanogenMod 13 theme called Volt for the general navbar theme.
The ROM I use (Screw'd), and I think this is available in Dirty Unicorns as well, has a feature where you can individually change navigation bar icons with an icon from an icon pack or image. The home button is from Tiny White Icon Pack.

For the top box center the clock and make the font thinner.
Make the date font much thinner and change it to words instead.
Find another place for the battery.
For the weather box center the temperature and make the text a little smaller.
Move the "broken clouds" to the left side and change it to icons.
Make the wind speed much smaller, move it to the bottom of the box, and add some kind of wind icon above it.
For the music widget get rid of the weeb moonrunes.
Change the buttons to icons.
Move the artist name to the top, the buttons under that, and then the song name on the bottom

Here's the layout for my homescreen.
Left panel is a music widget, and tapping it opens my music player.
Middle is a clock that opens the clock app
Right is 6 apps (phone, hangouts, texting, play store, youtube, and chrome)
On the top of all the screens I have a battery percentage that opens to the battery menu.
The only other app that I use on a daily basis besides those 6 is clover, and I don't really want that on my homescreen anyway.

I don't personally like the circle battery bar thing. It sorta works here since it's so small, although it's also a little hard to see. The time and date could probably be lowered a bit to give it some breathing room. Not bad though overall. Simple and clean.
So this is my first rice (worth even posting at least). Just switched to android a couple weeks ago. I took a lot from rices I liked. Helped learn KLWP that way at least. The wallpaper changes when the sun goes down. The day pape is kind of a placeholder since the white icons disappear into it a bit. Hopefully I can find a similar pape without that problem.

The guide for sidebars in the OP isn't for KLWP, is it? I can't seem to get it to wipe, even though I have it set in Nova. Do I need to use a special formula for the animation?
Any tips on how I can improve it? I feel like it's too basic, in a bad way if that makes sense
