Could anyone possibly extend this into a 16:9 wallpaper? Based off of the pic's natural res, 1920x1080, whatever.
Maybe one could mirror the sides and somehow blend the edges to hide the effect, I'm not sure how it'd look.

i didn't use photoshop, i used Gimp.
steps:
1. scale the image to a height of 1080
2. copy the image to the clipboard
3. scale the original image to 1920x1080
4. apply a Gaussian blur to the image , with a blur radius of around 40 in horizontal and vertical
5. paste the image from the clipboard
oh and the letters i removed in https://pixlr.com since i cant do that in Gimp, with the tool "Heal->spots"

I desaturated it and reduced to lightness to -75. I used the hue/sat adjustment layer in PS. I don't own a gimp suit so I couldn't tell you how to go about doing it in one, but I'd imagine the process is similar, if not a little impaired by the gimpyness of it all.

patch tool (a few times) did a good job of removing batman from the eye on the right
so just copied that eye to a new layer, flipped and freetransformed it to cover the eye on the left, masked it out to only cover the lens
added some noise to try and hide any fuckups
