I might've done so that the name and author display when you hover over the image of the page. That might give more attention to the pages than the name, which doesn't seem to matter to most creators anyway.

Sure, uploaded everything in a zip file. Has 4 different images. One person of the page uses php, and loads a random one on load, the other just loads the one you say and uses html.

ln39 creates a temorary txt file for the list to be generated in, i had a issue with that before too but found the cause to be i forgot to close the file after (which it does now so not sure about your issue).
i did update the script again now so it creates the txt file in the same directory as the script, but if that makes a difference idk, other than that check the permissions on the file i guess (and folder the script is in)

the script has no connection with the homepage itself, it's standalone to make a list of local files since those can't be accessed through the homepage.
when the script runs you're supposed to get a dialog you can enter the path to the images you want, then it will return the picture list with notepad and the path to use in another dialog (both you just paste into the homepage/slideshow dialog).
might be easier to solve the issue tomorrow once you're well rested idd. gn

Like I said, I get the dialog and then it says I'm not given permission. It's not writing the file and I have no idea how it's done manually. I'll just use the startpage because it's neat and I like it but setting images feels confusing as fuck.

i'll research the permission issue more, but as for manually it's just a combination of the path and files under that path (reason for a script is because there would be a lot of work making it manually).
eg. path c:\user\aaa\my pictures\ would convert to file:///c:/user/aaa/my pictures/
and then all files under that path would just be listed as
file1.jpg
file2.png
file3.jpg
...

Hi guys, first timer here.
I want to make a minimalistic startpage.
I want: Google Calendar, Discord Chat and a search box (with quicksearches like -t -w). I also want random wallpapers.

Discord has an embeddable widget.
Google has embeddable calendars.
Pre-made JavaScript will get you 90% of the way to random background images. Though, if you have a server, random image with PHP is a lot better.
Most of your work is probably going to be making it look good/cohesive with CSS.
