Very nice gradient. One problem you have though is the line goes off her clothes by her waist. The easiest way to fix this that I know of is to select the line then go Objects -> Path -> Outline Stroke. Once it's a shape, you can just use shapebuilder tool to crop off the bit that goes off. Also, it looks like the armpit line goes over the purple bit. Other than that looks good.

Export at a much higher resolution (300/600 PPI) and complete the top of the head since it is easy to do. If you're not going to include that highlight on her dress above her left leg, then you need to complete the yellow design as if it terminated properly. I already read WA2 and it's great. I wanted to download WA1 VN but it's not available everywhere except AB so I'm waiting until freeleech to download it.
The anime for WA1 is fine. The first season of WA1 anime might feel stupid but bear through it because the second season is where things make sense more. The anime for WA2 can't go wrong because it's basically introductory chapter adapted.
I suggest you read WA2 if you can into moonrunes or just watch the anime if you can't and hope for translation of closing+coda. As for WA1 your only option is anime unless you want to buy the game.
I prefer Ogata Rina than Morikawa Yuki in WA1 but I prefer Touma Kazusa than Ogiso Setsuna in WA2. Some people might find that weird but eh that's my preference.

granted i haven't been doing it that long, but I would recommended trying it. I find it oddly soothing and I guess therapeutic when you get into a rhythm. It's kind of obvious but find simple things to do first. For example the first few I did were all pokemon, because they tend to have clear simple shapes and designs.

I see what you mean about the arm looking like a stump. Is there a way to just being out the lines in the coat, so it saves you having to do lines everywhere else and emphasises the arm is tucked into the coat? Just make a new project in GIMP or Photoshop that's the size you want your wallpaper to be. Have a solid color as one layer, and have the vector be in another layer above it. Resize the vector so it fits in the canvas (make sure to preserve scale when you do so it doesn't get distorted). Export as a PNG and you have your wallpaper.

Not him but just a few things I noticed.
Flower nodes could be a lot cleaner. You might also want to experiment with including the dot in the middle and/or a yellow-white gradient. Some of the hair curvatue is a little strange looking, I'd recommend playing with it a bit so it looks more natural. Part of the eyelash extends to far. I would crop it off so it tapers faster and ends sooner. Some spots your orange background creeps over her. The sleeve also is missing part of it. Even if you used a different image as a source and that's how it should look, you should still touch it up so the nodes are less sharp. The zipper should also probably be a gray but you could argue that it's fine as is because style.
It's nice background though. Touch up some nodes and pointy bits and it'll look great.

hey so just a few things. you missed her right black piece (blue circle) as well as a piece of her hair by her left eye. other cirlces are where theres some overlap issues like where her collar meets the left black strap. some of your hair tips don't flow all that well. and then just work on smoothing out your nodes. There are places on the body, I circled a few, where its to easy to see exactly where the node is, especially since they are relatively straight sections. try to go back and mess with the handles to smooth it out more.

biggest thing I see is that you have way to many nodes, for example where the hair curls in the bottom left. In general the nodes could be smoother but you should be able to do all curves in one, maybe two nodes. It's kinda hard to tell at this resolution but I think the same applies to the tray behind her back. way to many nodes. In general I really like it, it just looks jagged.

There are a few instances of color peeking and the skin tone is a little dark, but there are more fundamental problems here.
1. Too many nodes. For all vectors, but especially minimalist ones, you want to have as few nodes as possible. Knowing where to place them takes practice, but think of it as a challenge of how few you can use to get the curve correct. This will prevent things from becoming jagged.
2. Lines should have a consistent width. Rather than tracing out both ends, just trace the middle and use a stroke. This will keep the width consistent and will look better. likewise, for parallel lines, just copy paste so it's the exact same curve and distance in between is preserved.
3. Frills looks sloppy. Frills look really nice when done well, but can easily ruin an otherwise good vector. Take your time here, do not rush it.
This looks really nice from a distance, but if you make these changes it would look a lot better zoomed in too.

There are a few fuckups scattered about (a few instances of color peeking) that I've pointed out.
I had some mild critiques about stuff just so it looks better while it's zoomed in. A lot of it is really nitpicky, so if it's too much of a hassle don't bother changing things.

Just so you know I haven't forgotten about this. I just haven't had a lot of time to work on any vectoring. Turns out I used the curvature tool so the nodes were straight cancer. I've spent my time redoing everything from scratch. It's still not perfect but it'll be much easier to fix things.
I've played around with a few different designs for the shield and sword but everything has looked like shit so far. Here's what I've got without the sword and shield. Hopefully I can work something out for the rest and start on Imca.
