Because they're beautiful phones, but rarely seen with such equally beautiful rices around here.
Before asking for a wallpaper, reverse image search it. This function is built into 4chan now. It's not hard to do.

Reposting.
Windows Phone #1
The only good one is the middle one
>>1766176
Windows Phone #2
I'll post mine one more time.
This is my very first riced phone, any tips I should know about?
Make your icons look water colored like the rest of the bg
All iPhone, and all shit. Anon why do you do this? I thought it was established that timma is back so he's messing these again.
>>1766180
I see what you're going for with the street signs, but typically trying to make your icons work as if they were a part of the background like that just doesn't work, especially in this case where the icons are just sort of scrambled all over the place instead of placed in a more cohesive manner.
Try working it so that the icons aren't so scrambled, and are laid out a little bit more uniformly.
>>1766180
I like what you did with icons, but I'd rather do icons that looks just like those signs and then place them as widgets with zooper or something like that
2nd attempt at rising muh phone
>>1766180
>>1766179
Those are interesting and I like them a lot
>>1766177
>>1766198
Non-iPhone biased version
>>1766214
Still picks shit
>>1766215
Being this mad because your shit phone wasnt featured
>>1766208
I like this, how did you manage to change the APPS color?
>>1766215
and which was yours?
>>1766218
Nova pro
Last thread people pointed the weird pixel font on numbers and the fingers are fucked. Changed the font, but can't do anything about the vector unfortunately. I'm using Nova free, is there any way to make the dock vertical? Thanks.
>>1766235
You should swap the phone and texting icons with the firefox and camera ones
Other than that it looks good, I would have used a dock if I were you thought
Here's mine updated yet again from last thread. Used a stock Zooper font for the clock, might change it when I feel like it. I'm happy with it ATM.
>>1766156
Hmm, i gave it my best shot, but i feel like the positioning of the icons is still a bit odd. I might end up going with the style on the far right.
>>1766239
The new icons on the far right screen sure are better, but I think the position kinda kills the theme of having everything at the characters hand. How about positioning them in a diamond shape over the hand?
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to android ricing and want to change up my lockscreen. Now I have used alternative lockscreens in the past but I have started using this app called "Smart Unlock" which basically unlocks your phone when connected to certain WiFi/bluetooth signals.
Does anyone know if there's a way I can combine the two? So a custom lockscreen with the functionality of the smart unlock.
>>1766246
Tasker.
>>1766259
How did the final product of the multi homescreen project turn out?
>>1766259
>>1766246
Now that I'm at a computer I can elaborate a bit on it. There should be an option to set up a condition that will fire when connected to wiif, so it will be something like
>New Profile>Wifi Connected
Then you put in a specific network that you want to trip the task.
Then you create a new Action, which is what ever you want the phone to do. I don't know off the top of my head if there is a screen on/unlock function but with some messing around you can probably make one.
>>1766262
Not as good as I wish it did but better than expected if that makes sense.
The hidden rice is pretty much always hidden now, almost to a redundant level but because of that there is always a delay when going from the main rice to the hidden one. So in the example video's case the lewd wall always takes a second to appear, while the safe wall appears immediately and even sets its self twice.
I could also never get a live wallpaper to work properly. So something like my normal 3 page rice setup can't be done with the method I found.
The way I have it set up tasker gets stuck in a loop of setting the live wallpaper going back to the launcher, only to bring up the live wallpaper settings again, the back to the launcher over and over. I need find a way to input some kind of break statement or a loop counter for it to work properly but I didn't bother. Most people use 1 page in these threads anyway. I made some directions as well as a video showing it in operation here.

>>1766242
Just tried this, and I actually like it quiet a bit, thanks very much. Might re-adjust the imagine the background so there's less dead-space, but other than that I think it looks pretty good.
>>1766220
Then shut the fuck up, these are actually good pics
>>1766287
>doesn't post for 1 thread
>now has no say in what is a good screen
The point is there were better screens posted last thread than the ones grabbed, he didn't get the worst, but they were far from the best.
Waited a whole thread to repost mine.
Only edited the icons from #ffffffff to the white from the background. + added a small LTE thingy to the signal.
I have no idea what else there is possible to do. Some people were not 100% okay with the clock so I might try doing something with that.
Don't know how to start a new rice since I don't want to change my widget layout as it is.
>>1766290
He grabbed some good iShit ones and then followed up with the best of the other ones, how would your op pic look then?
Same shit every thread.
>>1766290
You could have always quoted the ones you thought were better.
>>1766291
this looks fucking cool
10/10
Not finished with this rice.
Still plenty of improvements to be made.
>>1766294
Don't listen to him, I've been naggin' on my brother to rice his iphone after seeing yours, looking good m80
>>1766291
This is one of the best rices I've ever seen, period. I'm not really fond of the music player disposition, but the rest is god-like cohesive congrats
>>1766214
lmao I didn't even make this one
I need feedback
And I know about the arrow in the bottom corner, I use it to unlock my phone when I cant unlock using home button (every time I unlock with home button it goes to home screen, closing the app)
>>1766298
To start off... get a high-res wallpaper
>>1766342
The clock doesn't work very well with this wallpaper IMO
The icons' quality seems kind of bad, you might want to fix them out
I think this is the kind of setud you'll get tired of very quickly, the wallpaper doesn't allow for much customization
I call this the "4 minute rice"
>>1766367
Couold have spent those 4 min to make it decent
>>1766367
I call this half assed shit.
Finally found something I wanted to make a rice for and decided to make something before the small measure of inspiration I have at the moment vanishes for another thread...
>>1766367
And it looks like it.
>>1766414
I've been wanting to try something like this. Thanks for the inspiration anon.
too little?
too much?
I'm not sure I'm a fan of banners/boxes for the clock and whatnot but I don't know what else to use. I like using gestures instead of icons but again I don't know what else to do to make it interesting.
>>1766176
>>1766178
Alright here's a Gundam theme I actually put a bit of time and work into.
Can't leave WP out of whatever trip's mecha fetish.
Feeling on the fence, especially about the two apps at the top; but it gives some weird off-balance sense of balance for me.
Might move them down between the image, and the Build and Fight folders.
It'll probably stay like this for a while, but who knows.
Constantly changing app placement is fucking with my head.
found a pretty decent music app. it's called ecoute
>>1766180
6/10 Nice try with the icons but they don't fit the wall. Widget is pretty cheesy and not particularly fitting either. If you're first starting out ricing, try something easier like a girl on a plain background first so you can mess around with things like icon placement or custom widgets (UCCW or Zooper) to get a better feel of how to do thing, what's nice and what's not.
>>1766208
7/10 Maybe extend that top red bar so it goes all the way to the top. That little bit of white peeking out doesn't look great. Clock might look better moved all the way to the top like battery is so that the top and side margins are consistent. Banner is pretty generic but nothing wrong with it so I'll leave it at that.
>>1766235
>cant do anything about the vector
That can be done even in paint, c'mon son. That aside, I think all the info would look better in grey to match worst girls shadow or full-on white to match the icons.
>>1766237
I think widget and icons could still be bunched up closer to the clock and further from Taiga but this still looks good enough.
>>1766239
White won't work unless you make all the stuff of the other pages white as well to stay consistent i.e. both clocks. >>1766242 has a good idea with the diamond shape though. Even if you don't run with it I think HS1 looks better than the alternative. Icons on the alternative are way too close to the edges and too far away from the character. You should probably switch the icons back to blue if you have no intention of making the clocks white.
>>1766291
8.5/10 Still looking great. Widget might look better with the colors swapped around i.e. clock red, date/weather blue. Placement still looks kinda random though. Good work nonetheless.
>>1766298
6/10 Blurry wall is what strikes me as odd first. The banner and icon choice actually isn't bad but doesn't fit the wall. Same story with the clock widget + the placement of that isn't great either. That background pattern makes it hard to get a cohesive theme going and thus in addition to the low res wall I'd highly suggest you getting a better one.
>>1766342
7/10 I don't like the clock font but whatever. That whole widget would probabaly look better tilted even more to align with the edge of the girl and fill up that whole top-right corner better.
>>1766367
5/10 Minimalism done wrong. Too many icons. Crappy icon choice as well, borderless would look better here. I fucking hate that text clock with the different font sizes and it doesn't look good here either. Simple digit clock in a thin font would be fine.
>>1766414
8/10 I like the idea dude. I think the icons banner would look better in a larger size and further from the bottom edge though. It might work even without the blur as well. Just to nitpick a bit (I'm sorry) greater spacing or a thinner font on the clock might be a nice tweak.
>>1766433
8/10 Just right. Not sure that I'm a fan of the translucent banner though. If possible I think shifting the wall or zooming in a bit will look better such that there is less of the ground/tracks and more of the sky.
>>1766437
7.5/10 Cute! I think the way you have it right now isn't too bad.
>>1766463
8.5/10 Yeah those two icons are really throwing the balance off. I'm thinking they would look nice below "fight" and "build" respectively, next to the weekly weather. On the lockscreen if you're gonna stick with the banner make it taller so there's some vertical breathing room. Right now the text goes all the way to the top and bottom edges making it look cramped.
>>1766275
I actually bought tasker a couple of weeks ago and then instantly forgot that it existed, thanks mate ill go mess around with it and see if I can get the lockscreen working.
>>1766291
Do you need the High and Low temp on the left screen widget? I can barely make out the the 9 degrees portion. Overall it seems redundant when the weather is also under the clock one screen over.
>>1766293
You can't make people happy when you make the op. Just ignore them.
>>1766298
As said in the irc, centering the icons in the dock better, finding a higher res image of yuki, and a better more fitting clock will all help if the long run here.
>>1766342
The clock looks jumbled together, I'm not sure if its the font or the curve doing it. Considering the icons sit in a straight line and aren't tilted. I would see what level, and straightened out clock looks looks like.
>>1766414
Looks nice. Digging the colors int that sky.
>>1766433
That depends on what look you want. I think the white is a little bright and would use a darker color for the widgets. The long month name getting cut by the power lines doesn't sit well. The 3 letter abbreviation for the moth will fit that space better.
>>1766437
There isn't much here but the way it now isn't bad.
>>1766463
The lockscreen banner it a little close above the hours, compared to the below the hours. The same goes for the notification bar up top, the white line drawn there is really close to the bottom compared to the space above. Moving the icons below the build and fight would crowd the lower section of the screen imo. If you can move them to the top left corner they will help balance the arrow in the bottom right in an asymmetrical way.
Any suggestions on how to make this look nicer?
>>1766540
Less icons on one screen, larger character image, and clock. Higher res character, or match the sketchy style of the drawing with the icons and use a fuzzy font. Add a drop shadow.
>>1766477
Yep. The only issue is that those icons are really low res and don't blow up well, so I tend to try and avoid doing so. I'll try and come up with another solution.
>>1766414
What icons are these if you don't mind me asking?
>>1766544
Exactly this.
The most bothersome things are the clock and the wall res.
>>1766463
>>1766477
>>1766531
>>1766556
Cool forgot text.
Undecided if I should keep a black row on top for balance or go for the bigger image.
>>1766531
>Do you need the High and Low temp on the left screen widget?
lol I actually didn't know that it showed HIGH and low temp. Fixed the color of the high temp to a red one. As for it's redundancy I think I may keep it as I can quickly see the weather for the next few days, high and low is actually has it's use as it's slowly turning to spring here and it's from a different source then from the clock one. Actually I don't know which one they use. The one under the time is from yahoo and displays current weather only.
>>1766578
Right screen has up to the minute changes.
And yes left can display weather for the next 14 days by just clicking on the day. Only thing is thats it's a premium feature on top of DigiCal+ but it's only 1,50€ for the whole year. Normally it shows the weather for the next 2 days.
>>1766291
Which calendar did you use here? looks really nice.
simple. scrolling wallpapers all with the bar on the right. nothing fancy
>>1766591
DigiCal+, swapped the font from inside the apk with a different one.
Do you guys have much experience with the Minimalistic Text widget?
I want the text in pic related to align to the top, as opposed to the bottom. I couldn't find any vertical align options (top, middle, bottom) only horizontal (left, center, right).
I tried to add some makeshift padding under the text to push it up by adding a new row and inserting a blank space - however when I add a new row the text doesn't appear. (it's trying to print under the existing row).
The widget in the picture is occupying a 1x6 area on the screen.
Ignore the double space between the values and the unnecessary width of the thing, I haven't formatted it or anything, it's just some test text for me to find out how to vertically align.
>>1766626
The second I posted this I discovered a solution, disregard it.
New rice. Rate and suggestions please
>>1766626
>>1766627
Fuck. This was replaced with a more annoying issue, the text in this widget is starting on a new line when there is plenty of space. This is incredibly frustrating.
>>1766600
Doesn't editing apk files break them though? Did you recompile it after adding new fonts or something? Anytime I unzip them they don't work anymore.
First serious attempt at a rice.
havn't done anything with the lock screen because I just seem to prefer the standard options compared to what widgetlocker offers.
Using Nova and a double tap brings up the dock.
swipe to the left takes me to my calendar w/ pleinair in the back ground thanks to setting the wallpaper scrolling to reverse. And I try and keep my menu's clean by sorting everything either into Apps or Misc. Tabs with subfolders in each tab.
r8 and suggestions, etc.

Glyphs by Tokems
http://tokemsaurus.tumblr.com/tagged/themes I think there is a link to a zip of the ios theme that you can grab the png's from somewhere on this page.
>>1766640
Umm no. I think I just unpacked it, swapped one of the fonts using the same name. Then packed it again and changed to apk.
First try at ricing. Any tips or additions would be great.
>>1766657
I've tried that in the past with icon packs and the apk never installs correctly.
>>1766642
You're gonna need to keep lurking here for a bit more then. The phone isn't riced... That's a standard phone screen.
You already have Nova Launcher, so go get a custom widget app (Zooper or UCCW or something) and try some stuff out
>>1766342
I asked last thread so I feel bad asking again but do you mind sharing the wallpaper? Reverse image search didn't hook me up
My very first ricing attempt.
In our honest opinion, the only good thing about it is Rei, don't you agree?
>>1766734
You didn't even try, did you?
>>1766739
Yeah because that has the same background color and resolution as that anon's doesn't it?
>>1766740
Yeah, I totally chose the best resolution. Come on, do some work yourself..
>>1766682
I don't like the messages icon positionned right next to the clock
Maybe try removing either the music player one or the play store one
Other than that it's pretty decent, however it looks a bit "empty" on the left side
Posted this about a year ago, not sure if it's revisiting. Something seems a little off about it, any suggestions?
Disregard the choppiness of the image, that's just because I uploaded it to imgur and saved it from there. The original looks fine.
>>1766734
you could literally just take 20 seconds in paint
>>1766782
if it's worth revisiting*
I could make the battery bar follow the lines of the clouds to the right, or something.
>>1766783
ayy lmao I missed a spot
fix it yourself
>>1766737
1/10
Yup, it's shit
All your stuff is way too much dispersed over the screen, and the rectangular shapes on top of the wallpaper look appaling. You should try something else from scratch to be honest.
>>1766642
3/10
This wallpaper doesn't allow you to do much, really. I don't find the road signs very appealing either...
You should change the icons and put them all "together" instead of spreading them on the screen, it looks kind of messy
>>1766629
4/10
The strip behind the clock triggers me, and the icons don't exactly look good and are misplaced.
Simple but not very effective IMHO.
>>1766782
6.5/10
What seems "off" is how the bottom takes most of the intention while being the least content-filled part of the screen.
I still like it since it's nicely themed, and it could easily be a 8/10 if you play with the wallpaper positionning (if this isn't the original one, which would be too bad..)
I got my dads Tab 3 because he didn't really use it. So for the time being i just threw something together to get away from that god-awful stock screen but i might step up my rice game again, but i'll probably root this fucker first.
>>1766626
>>1766639
I don't really remember since i haven't used it for a while, but what is the reason for using Minimalistic Text rather than like Zooper or something?
Welcome to the laziest rice in the world featuring me.
>>1766795
still better than most phones posted here lmao
>>1766556
how do you rice your WP ? just got a 525 for $40 last week
>>1766804
With or without my banner?
Note: I used Zooper hotspots for the icons
>>1766804
Here is the full image if this is what you wanted.
>>1766650
Thank you!
>>1766626
>>1766639
Did you ever figure out what was messing up? I've messed with that app quite a bit in my day.
>>1766642
As people have said, the icon placement isn't working, and I personally find it strange to put the calendar over the main subject of the wallpaper.
>>1766682
I like everything except the date. The color is just too dark for the thin font, the contrast is odd. It also causes the eye to focus on that corner. Keeping it white will draw the eye to the character.
>>1766737
I don't understand your banner approach. The sudden stop after the camera, only to box the app drawer, and throw the phone way off on the other side, its just not good. Make one row of icons, with a banner that runs the full length of the screen. Your banner's centering is also off. Its a lot larger on the right side of the icons than the left. Cut it down a bit on the right side and it will look better. If you make Rei smaller do that, and give yourself some room to work with. Place the clock in the upper right corner where it will not overlap anything and you don't need that box behind the text. You could also use more than solid black for the background. Its a very boring image when you do that. I disagree with the other rate though, you have potential here, there are just a lot of places to touch up.
>>1766740
A lot of the walls used here are going to be custom made, so unless they uploaded the picture somewhere a reverse search will not find it. If you can the render they used count your blessings. Recreating an image you want isn't a bad practice anyway.
>>1766788
>what is the reason for using Minimalistic Text rather than like Zooper or something
For me it was a couple of things that the others can't (or at the time didn't) display or have an option for.
>>1766795
Other than the icons its not that bad.
I've not done much ricing before, never anything I felt looked good. How's this?
>>1766860
Those icons don't really fit and they're not positioned brilliantly. That wallpaper is an interesting choice but it looks pretty easy to do wrong. I like the clock though.
>>1766870
Your colours are pretty poor. Your clock is ugly and your icons are inconsistent. The black bar at the bottom doesn't match the red banners and the banners don't look nice.
First attempt at this, criticism/advice?
>>1766887
Thats a pretty stock standard rice. Nothing really glaring as bad, especially for a first time. You may want to look into more icon options and a better looking clock. However as is its not bad at all.
>>1766870
Thats really messy feeling to me. The app drawer icon doesn't match and stands out too much. I don't know if you added at the shadow up top but if you did its not a good look. The tan/brown used for the clock looks bad with that red, and is jarring and I think a little hard to focus on near the date portion of the widget. Your dock divider and page indicator is still up which almost always looks bad. The double pinstripe effect is a neat border for the banners but the fact some red sticks out on the sides kills it. There is too much sticking out on the left compared to the right. In all honesty I think it would be better to end the red portion where the first pin stripe starts. I would also suggest just lining the longest sides of the banners, not the every side. That way one banner will appear to be on top and removing the box around battery %. Which in the long run will clean up the look.
>>1766737 here.
I updated.
The wallpaper is temporary, I plan on switching to muh waifu soon.
Overall, it's way better than my previous version, right? What do you think?
>>1766910
Oh, just an addition: I use 24 hours clock format, in case you're wondering about the PM or AM (as it's not so common to stay up until 05:04 am). Imsomnia, you know.
>>1766887
Change that clock it's used on like every thread
>>1766556
>all this Zeta love
Feels good, man
>>1766787
>4/10
Fair enough. I cant change the strip tho because the image is even bigger. Icons looks like shit on the side because of the clock, I changed the icons to ones more simple since I like the wallpaper to be the focus. thanks
>>1766945
I keep hiding your posts, I wonder why
>>1766949
Maybe if your critique also included improvement suggestions not just a list of things to fix with no direction people would show improvement.
>>1766949
>Don't critique my attempt of a critique
?
can someone upload an older version of minimalistic text widget? As of two updates ago, mine stopped working. I just get infinite loading circles
What lock screens are you all using? I know the standard ones from the pastebin but I'm worried about draining my battery (and paying).

>>1766298
Good taste
Just how much battery does these riced up phones eat? I've been skimming through the screenshots and I really envy everyone, considering doing it myself.
First time doing this
What do you guys think? Any changes I should make?
>>1766910
Its better than the first one, I don't like the music widget though. There are better ways to take care of that.
>>1766959
I jump back and forth between stock and widgetlocker. There is (for me) little change in the battery used. In the past I used holo locker which isn't as customizable as widgetlocker is but its a bit more reliable and drained less.
>>1767002
Make a bar that runs along the bottom of the picture. You already have a solid bar there now, so it could be a seamless thing.
>>1767026
Between the first two this one (second) is better. I don't think the icons fit well though. I wold look into a good purple or gold/brown set. Or custom color an existing set.
>>1767081
No more than a stock layout does, unless its full of widgets, in which case some of these screens can get better battery life than a stock phone full of them and vice versa.
The major battery killers are live wallpapers, lots of widgets, and some of the lockscreen 'replacement' apps depending on how your phone handles them.
>>1767088
>>1766910 here.
I moved the widget to another screen and made it look transparent.

I don't know, I was trying to get them in a sporadic, natural sort of style to complement the wallpaper, but I might create some sort of bar if I get too many apps that I use.
Also, here's the background I'm using in full, if anyone wants it. It works pretty well with Five Wallpapers, to where each screen gets its own character.
>>1766414
How did you do that lockscreen? Looks very nice.
>>1767233
Well, I made the wallpaper in in photoshop, which is just the bg with the lines on it. Then, in widgetlocker I made the widget for the clock with uccw. The slider is just is taller than it is wide and uses the right slider instead of the left one.
>>1767229
>I wish I could root my Moto X though.
But you can.
The Iphone Pastebin has been removed.
Anyone wanna give me some basic starter tips on how to rice an IPhone? Mines cluttered as shit.
Even worse, it's a hand-me-down and the idiot who owned it before me decided to replace the original white case with a dark blue one, so I need something that suits that.
This might be a terrible question to ask but how do I change the bottom 3 button icons? I'm not a native speaker so I don't even know what they are called so it's difficult to search for info on them. I'm running cyanogenmod with the apex launcher.
>>1767316
I believe they're called software buttons. I don't know how to change them.
>>1767316
it's called navbar
you can install xstana (xposed module if i remember correctly) to change their look
>>1767316
The navigation bar needs a custom rom or rooted device to change
Changed my lockscreen but had to change my wall as well because the old one was too bright and colorful.
Not quite sure yet if I like this or not.
>>1767385
10/10
Really nice. It's really refreshing compared to all the waifus
>>1767314
Both links from the OP opened for me? What guide are you talking about for iPhone?
>>1767316
You need a rooted phone or a custom rom. Most custom roms have an option to change the buttons shown, the order they are in, or to remove the bar completly. If your rom doesn't (and I forget if CM does or not) you can grab xposed framework and install the gravity box mod. However these will only change the order they are in, and the button shown. The icons for each button will not change. If you are looking to replace the back button's arrow with a star then as >>1767348 suggested, grab xstana. You will still need exposed framework.
>>1767314
See the post I made here >>1765564
>>1767397
>The pastebin is old an kind of unnecessary.
You what m8? iOS rice is so much more complicated than android. If we need a guide for android we sure as shit need an updated iPhone one.
>>1767398
It's not that complicated, it just takes more time to set up than it would on Android.
>>1767399
You are missing the point of that post. Complicated, time intensive, whatever you want to call it, it doesn't mater. The fact that its a more involved and difficult process than android should be enough to warrant a proper guide. people come in here and fail at android riceing when there are loads of guides and its a piss easy task. Why would iOS not need one when its a clearly more involved process?
>>1767385
why is your lockscreen the sad panda LOL
>>1767401
I thought it was funny because others don't know where the hidden slider is.
I tried some other pictures in the same frame but liked the panda most.
>>1767400
When it comes to people failing, that's mostly from them NOT reading the guides, but nonetheless I guess there should be some kind of a guide when it comes to iOS ricing.
Maybe one day I'll just group the tweaks I posted into different section and just explain what they do. But damn I'm lazy.
meh i can help out with the tweak list. took forever to find shit for my kaga rice
>>1767385
This is really nice! But have you tried positioning the clock somewhere else? That doesn't look quite right..
And too bad that the show turned out to be pretty bad..
>>1767410
Yeah the clock is a problem. I cant come up with a good place for it. Any of these look better?
At least the ost is nice.
>>1767414
Tighten up the spaces a bit and you can probably fit another tile for the clock and music widget at the top. I'm not sure what "is" is there for but it's best to not have it. I hope this helps you make a 10/10 boss rice
>>1767414
ANIME CAN'T MELT STEEL BARS.
>>1767416
Yeah. Did I fuck up something? I dunno...
>>1767414
>>1767416
>>1767417
It looks kinda bad if the clock brakes the frame and above player/icons feels a bit too cramped. I'll just go with the middle one inside the picture.
It looked supersaturated until I changed the screen settings on my s3. Don't know why the default would be so saturated.
How about this one?
>>1767490
Good layout. Horrifying colors
>>1767491
yeah i really need to change my palette
any suggestions?
>Always try to rice my phone
>always end up going back to my default unriced phone
Goddamnit why
>>1767490
/r/ music widget.
Haven't figured out what I want to do with the lock screen yet other than the wallpaper.
Anyone having issues with Media Utilities and Poweramp compatibility? Mine always returns the track and singer, and ocassionally the coverart, as blank.
>>1766433
what clock is that? And yours is very nice. How do you access your apps though?
Second attempt at ricing. Open to criticism. My media widget won't work for some reason, I know I checked the right things in Media Utilities.
>>1767627
loved this one
My first,anything i should change?
When making a new rice do you start with the wallpaper, icon arrangement, or just a general theme?
>>1767794
That depends on what you have to start with. If you find a really nice wallpaper then work with that, that's usually easier.
>>1767797
Remove the notification bar and I would change the color of the banner, I think it pops out too much
>>1767794
>subject mater, show, characters, etc
>render, make the wallpaper custom, none of this premade shit
>set the new wallpaper and place icons, widgets, etc.
>make custom widgets that fit the wallpaper, find icons that fit the wall as well.
>adjust the wallpaper if needed to better fit the icons and widgets
>pretty much done at that point
>>1767797
Remove that notification bar, and get icons that are all the same. The 2 colored ones look like shit.
>>1767627
Looks awesome, the transition from minimal to the base image looks really good and the icons match perfectly. 8/10 My main issue is the capitalization and the inconsistency in said capitalization, also punctuation in odd spots.
>>1767087
Horrible clock, also, really low res wallpaper, that's also not how you use those icons, put them onto a solid color background and they will look much nicer. 3/10.
>>1767627
Could you post both walls plz?
also, what icon pack is that? looks great
>>1767490
Replacing the blue bar between the main wallpaper and icons with either some dark grays or maybe (and I mean maybe) some dark shades of red. The icons are interesting and a unique take but they don't fit this theme imo. The miku and kill la kill icons don't fit the eva theme and the 3 eva icons color wise don't work with the Selee theme.
I do like the idea with the icons though if they were applied in different rice. Maybe using walls from a show with enough characters done for each icon.
>>1767793
The hours in the clock is really bright. Toning that down a bit would look better. Other than that there is nothing else that just stands out as bad.
>>1767797
As already hit on those 2 colored icons really stand out. If you hide the notification bar and make the clock a little larger this would look really good.
>>1767794
Pretty much what >>1767801 said. If you start with a wallpaper you can always tweak the rest to fit it. A good high quality wall makes the rice, the icons and widgets add the flash and polish.
>>1766970
Good fucking taste anon
>>1767803
Fixed up some of the text.
>>1767806
I've put both wallpapers in a gallery
http://imgur.com/a/zQ3Ud
Also, the icons were ones I found randomly one day. I've uploaded the set on Mega if anyone wants them.

>>1766787
.5 why just give it a solid number or some shit. I hate how whenever there's someone rating something out of ten they always have to add a decimal like c'mon, what realistic expectations do you expect from people. I prefer a 5 scale that way you won't have to overshoot everthing or have unrealistic expectations from people... Plebs.
Rice of the week/month. I don't even remember how long I've had this one.
>>1767909
Thank you very much, anon
really loved your rice
Has anyone tried any vertically scrolling homescreens for Android?
I had a Windows phone styled homescreen for a while and I like the vertical layout but the tiles were pretty limiting
>>1767993
ssLauncher could work, but it takes A LOT of setup to get it perfect
>>1766214
What icon pack is the one on the left? Or is that custom made?
>>1767911
That's some serious autism here mate
first time, kept it simple ehile getting used to it. btw what's a g good lock screen app on Android
>>1768039
i kinda want a clearer/different wallpaper
>>1768039
Echo lockscreen.
This is my first ever attempt at ricing my iPhone to any degree. Cydia and Winterboard are both being pieces of shit, no matter how much troubleshooting I try to do.
What are my must-have programs to get to a decent look for my phone, particularly for my lock screen?
Is there even much hope for iPhones?
The theme I have now was the only theme out of about 20 that actually worked, which is the only reason I've kept it.
what should i do about my time and date?
>>1768129
Remove them. Do the same with your icons. God damn do they look bad.
>>1768129
>480x800
1080p phones are becoming cheap now with 1440p becoming a new standard. Get a new phone
>The font
I'm colorblind and I can tell that doesn't match at all. Pick a different font and color.
>4chan meme app
Find a better icon pack or don't use it. It doesn't fit at all with the rest
>App drawer
Why is it on her crotch? They're lots of other launchers (like Apex) that offer gestures to get rid of that ugly icon. Use that.
>That girl
I found her 2 years ago in like thread 10 or 12 idr. I think its time to move on and find something else
>Page Dots
Why?
Look at mine. Fine flat faggotry at work.
>>1768039
Lose the screen indicator, make your own clock so it fits better. There's not much to say. It's pretty boring.
>>1768087
I don't even want to know what device you're using with a resolution like that. I'll keep my thoughts on your rice short: it's a clusterfuck.
>>1768129
>what should i do about my time and date?
>time and date
Nigga the time and date are the least of your problems.
That folder is wrong and hard to see. Besides from a brief chuckle, the app drawer being on her crotch is just poor icon placement. The screen indicator is there, it shouldn't be. Your icons aren't centered on the >banner. The wallpaper...dear God it's like you hate anti-aliasing. That 4chan icon is all sorts of fukken why?
As for the time and date: the font is ugly, the placement is off and the colour is wrong and over saturated.
As always, have a nice day and happy ricing.
>>1767909
Download Nova launcher and redo your rice. The solid black bar will go away, without a shadow. Unless you're on KitKat.
>>1768147
This is incredibly bland.
>>1768178
I think it's bland in a nice way
First try how is it?
Here's mine. What do you think?
>>1768148
It's just an iPhone 4s with iOS 8.1. Nothing awful, but nothing special either.
>>1768129
Don't listen to these other guys, they're chumps. Here's what you do: Tone down the vibrance of that hot pink color of your date and battery and make it softer. Move that date to the bottom right more and make the type smaller. Move the battery to the top right and make it smaller too. If that left banner is part of the wallpaper, adjust it so its centered on the icons. Use whatever wall you want as long as its your waifu. If you have Nova, get rid of that drawer icon and make the icon scale at like...80% or something.
This is my first time trying to do this, please let me know if I need to change/do anything.
>>1768251
Are you using android? What did you use for the date and time up the top?
I usually just lurk these threads but now I'm actually trying it out for myself and seriously struggling.
>>1768258
I used uccw for the widget at the top, I think it already comes with it too.
>>1768258
Nevermind, it's called Bebas clock
widget.
>>1768129
Use a less harsh color. If you can scale her down a bit so you have room for those widgets. While you are at it, center your icons on that banner better, mask that folder stack or choose a better looking folder style. Move the app drawer, hide the page indicators, and dock divider, find an icon pack that has all the icons you need. I would suggest you also split up the icons here over two pages. If you have to place them over her and not on the banner you have too many.
>>1768147
Flat as fuck. Move those icons off the edge of the screen too. Looks like shit that closed to the edge. ;^)
>>1768180
Kind of empty but not a bad first. The icons are a little low, and the clock centering is off a bit. You did a good job capturing the bebop look though.
>>1768258
UCCW or Zooper are what you want. Read the pastebins they help explain all this stuff. Even though you have the name for the clock a couple posts down try to recreate that one with either uccw or zooper. It will be a good learning experience.
>>1768180
I think using black on your font would be nice, like its a shadow/hole on the wall, similar to Faye. You could give the same treatment to the icons, use a black pack and place them on the purple parts, play with the positions.
New Rice: Lazy Edition
I just installed Lollipop and can't be arsed to do anything with it right now.
>>1768330
I'll consider the clock color because it will look like the random text that floats around during the opening. I don't want to move the icons though. They will clutter up the main part of my wallpaper and break the look I'm going for. Pic related was the inspiration. The white clock and icons are supposed to be the same as the accent smoke. That lower black bar is also huge and I can't fit in another purple bar so it makes a good place for the icons.
>>1768343
I see your point with icons now, the clock could easily be whitish then but only if there was that smoke on the wall. This way the clock could overlap the smoke in the same way the different layers of smoke do with each other (like in the pic you posted).
I think this could give a nice feeling of interaction with the wall. I like where you're going.
>>1768347
I like the idea of adding smoke to the wall and maybe getting the clock to blend into the smoke a bit so its like the smoke is forming my clock. My only issue with the idea is in my pic Faye isn't smoking. So smoke would be out of place.
>>1768305
The iPhone pastebin is so outdated, it's almost useless. Honestly if I had more knowledge on it, I would update it myself but I'm having a hard time getting any themes to work. I am so stumped and it's making me sad.
>>1768349
Yes sure, that would be completely out of place. I forgot to mention that was an idea for a similar CB wall with the smoke already in it.
>>1768341
It's a nice wallpaper, but don't be lazy!
I refuse to use banners.
>>1768436
Definitely. I'll do something with it, but I'm just not sure what yet.
Hey guys
So I've been pulling colors from the opening sequence, which works out the best?
>>1768627
I like the purple and yellow.
Generic.
>>1768663
Fuck it it's a slow thread and those other screens are mad distracting.
My first try how bad is it
r a t e m e b o y s
Shit.. or not shit?
>>1768750
Shitty font(s), and do you really need all that info? I seriously doubt it. And why pick an icon pack with black outline when that doesn't match anything else?
>>1768665
What app do you use to make that lockscreen? Especially the date number?
What would be a good interface for a wallpaper like this? I have the basic one set right now, something minimalistic and dark/grey would be good, I think.
>>1768754
New to phone ricing and I would choose a better icon pack but it's very limited.
>>1768773
Tetra Lockscreen + some photo editing
You're shit out of luck though because Microsoft literally pulled it from the store less than a day ago, and _supposedly_ we're not going to see it again until its native integration into Windows 10.
>>1767404
I'm fucking stealing this idea
>>1768810
>tetra lockscreen
What the actual fuck. So you use that app, I've used it before upgrading to denim not long ago.
And just realize that Microsoft pulled that apps after I hard reset my phone ;_;
At least I'll see it in Windows 10.
Reposting mine. This is the first rice I've stuck with for over a month since I started. Going all-gestures has made me very lazy.
>>1768781
Keep all of the widgets and icons on the bottom half of the screen, and keep it minimal and geometric. Use white. Do a wide banner in a dark grey if you want. Transparent or non-transparent.
>>1768679
Get the icon colors to match up with the wall. Other than that, I like it.
>>1768523
You've got so much potential with that wall and I like it, however, those large top icons are what kills it for me. If you can two-tone them, it'd be great. Is the red supposed to be like a rising sun? Neat battery bar though, I'd make it a bit more sketched out like the wall, though.
>>1767958
Hi, Timmanator.
>>1768912
I really like it, although I would curve that banner to match the moon shape.
>>1768663
hey dude, how did you make your default search like that? also what's that manga reading app there?
shame about tetra, I guess I'll just deal with shitty lock screen until 10
How did I do, guys?
>>1768925
The red's just part of the wallpaper, maybe that's what the artist was going for, I dunno.
Did a new thing tonight. It's about time I did another Material rice, seeing as I actually have Lollipop now. My song progress bar on my music widget doesn't seem to be... Progressing. I'll need to mess around with media utilities some more, I guess.
>>1768952
I like the variation of shapes, however the black outline around the whole thing is just a little too jarring, try and make it a little more transparent. Also the white rectangle on the clock seems kind of redundant. But you're close.
>>1768925
Is this any better? I think I get what you mean by the sketched-out thing, but I'm not sure how that'd be achievable in Zooper. I'll probably edit the semicircle at the bottom to be a darker red when I get home, or I could just roll with >>1768737 instead.
