No, maybe it's because I grew up with a Famiclone (that looked exactly like the japanese Famicom), but when I first saw the NES I thought it was bulky for no reason. My friend was like "I have the Nintendo! the original!" and when I went to his house and saw his sister playing SMB3, I didn't even notice a difference with my good ol' Family Game, and wondered why it needed to be so big compared to my cute little machine that could play the same games.
Later I learned that my console was a bootleg, etc. I still have a warm spot for it (and its many bootleg games) on my heart.
I do prefer the original NES over the top loader though.

I honestly think the N64 is one of the best looking consoles. The controller may be wacky but the console deck itself is classy.

I always preferred the design of the NES-001 over the HVC-001, but why the fuck did they went for a spring-loaded cartridge slot?

I've admired the aesthetics of the PC-FX when I first saw one in person at a convention, I immediately fell in love with its design (didn't play any games though).
In retrospect, I wonder why more manufacturers didn't utilize a tower design for their consoles.
