I feel extremely bad for not wanting to vote for Cyclone City and Rampaging River.
Don't get me wrong, they look extremely nice, but goddamn they're just so huge. I have no fucking idea how to plan a park in those, so I just resort to spaghetti-ing the fuck out of them which is pretty fun, but still.
>>
>>3150960
I can't open Howling Meadows (missing pathred/0588180A1018E378) or Silver Peaks (Requires Add-On Pack: Wacky Worlds), whatever that might mean.
>>
Apparently my Howling Meadows landscape save is gone for some reason.
I didn't mean for it to end up in the contest anyway, regardless. If it doesn't work then whatever.
I just figured that I may as well upload it here since someone else could probably work with that terrain better than I could.

>>3151040
>Requires Add-On Pack: Wacky Worlds
Seriously?
Download the fucking expansions and the /v/pack.
>>
>>3151047
But what does it even mean? Because I do have all the Wacky World scenarios if that's what it is.

The Wacky Worlds Add-On Pack is required
>>

Yeah, I've been told. Since you obviously know, would you mind telling me what I need to download? Because I already have the WW scenarios.
>>

I originally had this issue where it wouldn't register wacky worlds even after i'd installed it. I had to grab a torrent of the triple thrill pack to get it to work and just installed that

>>
>>3150943
sorry to ask a stupid question but does openrct2 come with all expansion packs for rct2?
>>
>>3152223
No, you need to have RCT2 before you can run OpenRCT2 for now.
>>
Is RCT3D good?
>>
>>3151414
Just pirate the GOG version of the game, you chucklefuck. It combines the expansions into one install. The individual disc version is known to have issues.
>>
>>3152262
Damn, everyone is unpleasant today. I have the Steam version, it's the deluxe version with all expansion included.
>>
>>3152416
The general has been pretty shitty as of late. I really don't know why.

But he's right, though. Just try torrenting the GOG version. If you're using OpenRCT it doesn't matter what you use to run the game, as long as it's the game.
>>
>>3152040
It's a shame that RCT2 doesn't have all of RCT1's ground types. The red/green walls would work great there.
>>3152252
If you're talking about the 3DS one, apparently it was terrible.
>>
>>3152505
Judging by the reply-to-poster ratio, I'd say it's probably just one REALLY frustrated person. Not like it makes it any better, though.

That being said, I miss the days when this general was probably the most chill thread on /vr/
>>
>>3152574
Maybe you should grow some thicker skin. Insulting each other on 4chan is so commonplace that it's become a formality. I personally find it hilarious when I get called a faggot, for example.
>>
>>3152416
>chucklefuck
>unpleasant
You dont have much experience with insults.
>>
>>3152775
>>3152610
Being a jerkass for no reason and using "lol its just 4chin culture XD" as an excuse makes you look like a tremendous retard.
4chan isn't a fucking cock measuring contest that requires you to be as condescending as possible to make yourself look smart.

Jesus Christ I hate newfags.
>>
>>3152786
Ever heard of banter? 4chan banter tends to be harsh on bigger boards with more inflammatory topics, but smaller boards have it no worse than you would get in person.

Only newfags say newfag, you fucking newfag.
>>
>>3152808
Also the banter in more inflammatory topics often pushes past into actual anger because of the massive influx of retards over the years who don't understand banter or the art of trolling and just act like dicks. The guy(s) being a dick in here is nothing more than sarcastic, really. Only maybe one post is completely unhelpful.
>>
Come on guys, this is an amusement park, lighten up. If you're angry, then go break a bench.

I guess you could say. I'm not some kind of expert and have only ever been on two of them but you could kinda narrow the layouts down to launched shuttles, the more compact loopers like Olympia Looping and the ones racing through forests like Revolution and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oebLkln06Wc

But not really what define them.

I really hate the decals and objects in RCT2. None of them match up with the artstyle of RCT1 and they just look awful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWXKn3nixXI&feature=youtu.be
>>
>>3156872
the transitions between a lot of track elements are extremely rough and look like absolute hell to ride, the corkscrew would probably kill you, which at least you wouldn't feel since you'd most likely black out on the first loop.

You've got two main problems, very harshly placed track and you're going much too fast though the inversions. You can get away with much higher and larger and more steeply banked curves than it appears you think you can.

disclaimer: have not played planet coaster so I'm not sure what the coaster builder in it is capable of

Not if you do fastpass. If you ever go to Disney World, abuse the fuck out of it. You can only register three rides at a time, but as one ride ends, it opens up another slot. Schedule your rides as early as possible, and choose high-demand rides as soon as you can/ Every time you finish one activity, hit up another fastpass booth to schedule another activity.

You can experience like three quarters of Epcot's rides and shows by using fastpass alone. Not too sure about MK,. but I'd estimate probably half the park in one day.

I just came across this thread right now looking for something to play. I want to download OPENRCT2, but what's with all these super constant updates?

Are all of these safe?
Are they all stable?
What stops someone making the most recent one a virus or something else entirely?
Is each update actually an improvement or is there a "preferred choice"?
Which one should I get?

Current alpha is all about scenery building and path placement. Coasters aren't even supposed to be in the game but the devs gave a cheat for 2 of them to get accsesed. Coaster builder is incredibly incomplete and lacking a ton of features.

This

I had one of these beautiful fuckers crawl on me once. It landed on me as I was getting into my car and felt it crawling up my back inside my shirt as I was driving. I didn't know what it was at first, thought maybe a beetle. I hold open my shirt and it crawls out onto my finger. Fortunately I was able to stay calm and not wreck. He just sat there on my arm, cleaning his antennae, and eventually flew out the window without stinging me. So yeah, hornets are actually pretty docile. Wasps and yellow jackets on the other hand will sting you for no reason from my experience.

Can track be merged into elevator? Maybe requires vertical track into it? If so, how would one get rid of the station platform and just have floating shaft (which would be nice as structural scenery too)?

>>

You should really keep an eye on your stalls. There aren't connected to paths.
OpenRCT likes to disconnect them from paths when you load up the save file for some reason.

Finally getting the hang of this free form coaster builder on Planet Coaster.

Making pretty comfy smooth rides now.
>>
>>3164887

Making making buildings in Pc would be a lot more fun is the path system wasn't fucking retarded.
>>
>>3164954
Examples?
>>
>>3164959

For starters you can't click and drag to make paths. It has to be from 1-5 "units" which most the time causes paths to not connect correctly since the game most the time will treat your current path as a something completely different instead of auto connecting paths.

All shops/stalls/enterances/exits also auto snap to paths, however most the time they will be completely retarded and for some reason not find the path even when they are right next to it. You also can't have 2 intersections right nest to each other so all shops have to have minimum 1 unite between them otherwise one of the shops will not auto connect to the path.

It shouldn't be too time consuming if you just use the random place in openrct and just dump a bunch of quarter tile stuff. Then go back and clean up the edges with the scenery remove brush. Of course it depends on how intricate and complex you want to go.

Rewaly hard to use though. I had to hook up a bluetooth keyboard to be able to move the camera. I guess a better touch interface would be possible with Open rct2 tough.

I think I'll add archways over the supports of the bridge so the path isn't so damn boring, as great as this scenery group looks, it is very limited.

Any suggestions on the goal for this scenario? I have absolutely no idea what would make it challenging and fun. I don't want to force people to spaghetti in order to win, because it ruins the point of putting so much detail into the islands anyway, yet at the same time I want to give a good challenge (maybe harder guest generation and no advertising etc?.
