Previous Thread - >>3009914

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!

>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.
>Produce OC! Get out your real cameras and take beautiful pictures of your CRTs displaying recognizable characters with the kind of beautiful accuracy that brings tears to the eyes of young and old alike! If you take 100 photos, at least one of them will turn out alright! (maybe)
>Try to be as detailed as possible when asking info on a specific model. As always, google is your friend, and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either.
>Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. As always show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first.

Discussion of video processing and scaling devices is okay, but try to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories

I have a beautiful small CRT but:
• the only ports on it are SCART and antenna
• to play on it, I need to first turn it on, then adjust the volume, then change the channel to the right one from the remote control
• I don't have the original remote control so I have to use my phone

Is there some trick that could automate the process? Or better yet, can I tear the fucker down and buy some converter that I can just hook up to the cathode cannon? It'd make a really neat monitor too, so if there's a way to use it as a display for a computer that'd be awesome

Guys I want to know all about the xrgb mini.
Exactly how good it is at replicating scanlines? Can anyone post closeup/highres pics? Not bait, I'm wondering whether to pull the trigger

>>3038073
This should surely be fixable, mess with the pin settings?

>>3038228
So the overload light will sometimes flash on my bvm, Anybody here experience this?
The light on my 20 incher only flashes when I turn it on for a second.

>>3038619
you have a scart input and are complaining about a lack of options?!? You serious?
>>
>>3038735
>you have a scart input and are complaining about a lack of options?!? You serious?
Not complaining but confused. Is the best method truly just buying a HDMI to SCART adapter or something?
>>
>>3038739
SMS1, Megadrive, SNES, AES, PS1, Saturn, N64, PS2, Dreamcast and more all support RGB through a scart cable which is the best signal you can display on a CRT. Just hope it's a fully wired scart jack, not just composite/s-video.
>>
I can't find any PVMs, are high-end 90's TV's good enough?
>>
What's general opinion on number of TV lines fr PVM displays? Are 800 TVL too much for 14"? What about 600 TVL for 20"?
>>
>>3038802
Sure. S-video looks great, and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between component and RGB. I'm a fan of Trinitrons, but JVC also put out some great sets under their i'Art line in the early 2000s. I remember my friend bought one brand new back then because it was actually being rated higher than similarly-priced Trinitrons. We played a lot of games on that sucker.

>>3038826
Either are fine. The age of the monitor will factor more into the clarity of the image than the TVL at this point. You could have a 600 line set that looks awesome, and an 800 line set that looks like trash.

time and patience, it was shot with a samsung galaxy s6 edge, free hand. low iso and manual focus. it's one of my best shots, imo. the battletoads pic was during a casual playthough with a buddy with the lights on in the room and i was drunk, i can't believe the quality (although i did crop out the glare)

What is the largest CRT TV that is 4:3 and 480i?

I know Sony Trinitrons go up to 36".

Is there a larger size from another manufacturer?

Any caveats to buying the largest size of TV? (other than weight)
>>
>>3039234
>Any caveats to buying the largest size of TV?
Definitely. Someone else probably knows the specifics better than I do, but I believe it has a negative impact on geometry and overall image sharpness.

Why looking for such a big set? I swore off them after lugging a 32" TV up and down one too many flights of stairs.

I'm quite certain there were larger CRTs than 36 inches, but they were rare. After that, the weight started to increase exponentially.
>>
>>3039234

Not sure if this is for all sets but in north america the advertised the actual tube size is usually 2 inches smaller so if you get a 36" trinitron it probably has a 34" viewable tube.

Generally the bigger the set the less sharp it is, the worse the geometry, convergence and etc is. But as with every single crt it really depends on that particular set.
>>
>>3039275
I want the largest possible display to justify original hardware over emulation. The screen is bigger than computer monitor.

Also, 4 player multiplayer.
>>
>>3039234

>bigger than 36"
How young are you?

If you want literally impossible to move CRTs like that, look at the Sony XBRs. They're a more modern CRT but the best bet in that ridiculous size.

A better option would be scalers.
>>

Bro. Projectors.
>>
There is a 40" Trinitron but it is high scan(480p) so has input lag and no lightgun.

What is the largest JVC i'Art?

Projectors I don't like because they have noisy fans and are expensive.
>>
>>3039414
480p as in internal deinterlacing or support for native 480p? I'm pretty sure even some TV's without double frequencies introduce input lag.

Yo. Mine flashes up when it gets a fully bright white screen. Doesn't seem to do anything else, just warn me. Doesn't happen very often.

There was another anon in here saying when his did it, the set shut down and wouldn't show a picture again until he removed all the inputs card and reinserted them. One flash, and bang, he'd have to spend half an hour resetting things.

I think it's just meant to be a warning light. But the sets are ancient now, and often need a bit of a push to get the best picture up.

>>3038845

Not him, but I'm not sold on projectors. Blisteringly, hot, noisy, and can need a lot of care and attention. Also, by the time you blow shit up that big, it starts to look faded and somehow blurry and pixellated at once. Can be a nice addition to a collection, but not suitable for core use.

I recently acquired a VGA monitor, and I want to pick up an XRGB-3 for my consoles so I can use them on it with scanlines. Should I plug all my consoles into an RGB switch, then the RGB switch into the XRGB-3 for best picture quality?
>>
>>3041402
That would be fine in theory, but be wary of what kind of switch box you buy. Cheap ones will degrade the signal.

The RGB 21 port on the XRGB3 is right in the front. Honestly I don't see a need to waste money on a box. Simple enough to just swap the cables by hand a remove any doubt that a switch box might be degrading the signal.

>>3041571
I have six things I want to plug into the XRGB though. Five via RGB, and one via VGA, so a switch is paramount.

GDM-FW900.jpg
30 KB, 740x555
I have two Sony GDM-FW900 from long ago because I am poor and unable to afford newfangled displays so I had kept my legacy devices for my computer and console gaming (have an old XRGB2 from late 90's early 2000s to hook up via VGA). I am a retro game player by circumstance rather than choice. Plus, it may be a placebo effect, but it feels lagless to me and I enjoy the scalable nature of the display, to go from XRGB2 640x480 upscaled consoles, to 1920x1200 for my computer, and presets in geometry to display a not-retro console for "1080p".

I can only use one at a time because my cheap desk is rated for only the weight of one GDM-FW900. The first is now starting to show signs of failure. When turning it on, if there is too much white on screen it will constantly blink, unless it warms up with dark images on display for a couple minutes. Also the image is very sharp after it is powered on, but after about 10 minutes text gets blurry (not so bad that it cannot be read, but noticeably nowhere near as sharp). Can this be fixed and about how much would such an operation cost?

The second monitor is still in the closet but it has a 3 inch vertical scratch down the center of its front glass, it has better colors, sharpness, geometry, and the front bezel isn't scratched up. That scratch is annoying to look at. How specialized is the glass/coating for a replacement? Should I just have someone Frankenstein the two monitors into one superior one?

The cost of repairs may be high, I just want to know how much I should save up (may take months on my minimum wage) to get the operations done sometime by next tax return.

I know this is 4chan, and in before "kill yourself, faggot" as the solution, but I do enjoy CRT gaming. Thank you for any help.

Unfortunately no, that's quite a long distance from me. The price is totally worth it, but I know it cannot be shipped to me (weight is intense for its small size).

I got both monitors back in the day from a computer recycling center, and I think the scratch was made from the cardboard it was lying face down upon when the company of origin decided to dump all of these monitors.

It doesn't seem deep, but while off it looks like the dark coating was peeled off. When the monitor is on with a bright color like white, you can see a rainbow effect dispersing the light. it is "A" shaped and I tried to get it visible with lighting in this image.

As for the one with the issue, post a vid of the issue if possible but it sounds like your flyback may be going. I recently replaced mine that I got from a parts unit and it fixed my issue where it would randomly lose focus, and follow it up with a popping noise and brief black screen. Thanks for the info. I guess I should explain though, I bought both the JVC 720p monitor and a Sony PVM 240p monitor in the same lot.

I plan to play all my old consoles/Wii emu through the Sony PVM as it's native 240p via RGB cables/Component.
The JVC I was just going to use for anything that's 480i Native like PS2/Dreamcast (forgive me if I'm wrong) via S-Video, and wanted to try it for modern consoles via HD inputs in 720p. I know an LED would probably look nicer, but I also wanted to see what it looks like with CRT colours etc, and also the convenience of being able to use that JVC for HD and SD content.

Looking at the old completed listings it appears a great condition one went for around $150 in Texas, far far from me but sellers like the current one that is up is going for just under $3USD, but again I'd have to go through 4 large US states for it. If I were to sell mine and it ends out at $3USD, I'd be out of a sweet CRT and not even have enough for lunch in my shithole.

Besides, I did mention I enjoy playing games on the monitors, I just wonder the cost of repairs, leaving the option to maybe Frankenstein the two together.

I shouldn't have said SCART, you actually need JP21 cables to go directly into the XRGB. It's an identical-looking cable, but the pin layout is entirely different. If you already have a bunch of SCART cables, you will need an adapter.

You CAN use any splitter, but like I said, beware of cheap ones. They will likely distort or degrade your signal. I've never used one, but maybe someone here can vouch for a specific model.
>>
>>3042020

(I know I was not part of this conversation but I did post the image at >>3041958 about the Selecty21)

The Selecty21 is pricey for a switchbox. I have no idea why, but it was the only of its kind for the JP21 spec, which is all I had for the last 20-so years for cables and I only recently learned about SCART about 2 years ago. I do not know if the SCART switchboxes would work with my JP21 cables, so I err-ed on the side of caution and paid the expensive price for the Selecty21. I can say the Selecty21 does not appear to degrade the signal to my untrained eye, but everything still looks great in my opinion.

I have read that SCART directly plugged into a XRGB or Framemeister may damage the devices, so make sure everything is consistent if it needs an adapter or not. Very wise to caution others because they were and still are costly (to me at least) devices.

i dont think frankensteining the two will work very well

imo just go rub some vaseline in the scratches (and wipe off the excess ofc) since they seem light and if theyre still very apparent while on then investigate into removing the coating

i fully understand why you dont want to sell them (but sony GDM series monitors go for 300-1200 from what ive seen)

probably around 150 with fedex

>>3042015
yeah those jvc rgb cards are hard to come by for a decent price
you could spend a couple hundred in adapters that may not work or plug a framemeister into it (which is kind of redundant)
>>3041797
should wipe off easily
thing is the vaseline seems to only work if the scratch is in the coating
for actual blemishes on the glass it may not work as well or at all

I'm waiting to hear from the seller since he has a friend who might be interested in selling some cards. If I can get a HD SDI Card or COmponent for a good price I'll get those. Otherwise I'll use it via S-Video which is still great looking or on-sell it and try to make a profit.

It's still the bee's knees for colour calibration and the like for film makers or graphic designers I believe.
>>
>>3042054
>i dont think frankensteining the two will work very well

If it's the flyback, replacing the board with the flyback would work perfectly. The most common issues with these is the flyback going bad and it's not something you can repair. Hopefully its not a short in the tube.

I just got a (free!) PVM-20L5. In addition to games I'd like to view digital (over the air) TV broadcasts in the highest quality possible. Normal digital TV tuners don't seem to accomplish this, but I'd like to know what my options are. I'd like something that can output 1080i and 720p over YPbPr component (or RGB + sync). If it outputs RGBHV (VGA), I have the electronics knowledge to convert that to composite sync, but I want to avoud breaking the bank (I don't really wanna spend over $75 if possible). Anyone have a recommendation? I don't want to do the HDMI -> analog route if I can avoid it (really expensive), and my 20L5 does not have the optional SDI card, either.

Seeing as this was used at a local TV station for viewing 1080i and 720p content, I feel like this would be a good use.

>. The most common issues with these is the flyback going bad and it's not something you can repair. Hopefully its not a short in the tube.
I can't remember, but I though it was some sort of diode or resistor in the focus circuit that shits the bed, and that it could, in fact, be repaired.

>>3042392
>In addition to games I'd like to view digital (over the air) TV broadcasts in the highest quality possible
You can do what ever you'd like, but if I were in the situation, I'd probably try to avoid doing that so to prolong the tube's life as long as possible. Even if it has several thousand hours of good usage left in it, watching television in any sizable amount could eat into that pretty quickly. Even in "high definition", broadcast stuff is going to be compressed to save bandwidth and you're going to end up with video artifacts anyway; I'd at the very least save the monitor for dedicated video sources where you can confirm quality video throughout.
Just my thoughts, but whatever.

>Normal digital TV tuners don't seem to accomplish this, but
Just a guess, but this may be an HDCP related issue. HDMI/DVI support it, Component and RGB don't and as such you don't see them ending up on tuners.
>>

Shipping and handling one of these is probably expensive and time consuming so not suprised he quoted you that. I expect the bids to start coming in towards the end but assuming its 300 shipped or so its probably not worth it

Got a dilemna. I can pick up one of two TVs this weekend. One is a KV-32FS120 WEGA (2005 flat CRT SD) or a KV-32TS46 (1995 curved screen). I can fit only one in my car and they both are available only to pick up at the same time.
They're free, but the 1995 model claims to have a "buzz" issue at certain volumes.

I guess I'm mostly concerned with lag and light-gun compatibility. I'm leaning toward the 2005 model, though not sure if that's too "new," if that makes sense.

Help me /vr/; you're my only hope.
>>
>>3042561
Did you check the inputs on both? Do they take component?

I don't think being 'too new' is an issue unless it's HD CRT.
>>
>>3042561

i cant find much info about the 1995 one but it looks like it doesnt have component
>>
>>3042570
>>3042571
You're right, the 1995 model doesn't have component, but the 2005 model does. Sadly, it has only one S-Video input, but I figured that should be fine for now; I can easily swap out the plugs as I take marathons of using only one console at a time.

I looked at the specs of the 2005 model and yes, it does not have HD, so I should be good for light guns.

I basically did what another anon didna few months ago. I Volunteered there a few times, asked the engineer if they were upgrading from CRT's anytime soon, and it turned out they were getting rid of several. I just took the one since I didn't have room or use for more. There was only one 20L5 they were getting rid of, though. It was just a PBS station, btw.

>>3042471
I'd rather use it as a TV. It's certainly not going to be on as much as it was in the station (most of the day 5 days a week for 10 years), but I'm not going to treat it like a toy in a box that I never take out because it'd ruin the collector's value.

I only watch at most two hours of TV on any given day, anyway. More often just one or less.

I didn't mean it like that; Rather using it for what would see the best use of it.

>>3042582
Dimensions for it probably wouldn't fit a PVM all that well. Not deep enough, and the angle the screen is intended to be placed at would require you raise it up in order to accommodate the depth of the PVM.
It could probably be done, but you'd probably be better off trying to do something you're self that would fit it better.

Sorry I missed your posting (refreshing this page and I didn't see it). Both of my monitors have the anti-glare coating, the scratch only seems to have affected the coating and not the glass. I will look into the pros/cons of removing the coating. Then make a decision upon it later. Thanks for letting me know of this, I tend to have most the lights off anyway when the monitor is in use, and being the sole user of the screen, so glare doesn't seem to be an issue so the coating may not be that important.

As for the first one with the issues. I do not have any video editors installed at the moment, because to get the situations to happen may need some time to demonstrate. So I can at best describe the situation only by text right now. Basically, if the monitor has been off for some time, like an hour, when turning the monitor on initially *if there is too much bright colors/white* it will start blinking a lot, but the blinking subsides as I put more black/darker colors on screen. After about 5 minutes of "warming up" to the dark colors there is no issue with the blinking even with the whole picture being white, so long as the monitor stays fully powered on (power save mode essentially counts as turning it off). It's only a minor inconvenience at this time.

The first monitor's slightly unclear text is another issue all together. One can turn the monitor off then back on just fine, in doing so, fine lines like text appear sharper and crisper than usual. So something tells me this monitor is capable of producing a very sharp image, but something has degraded and I am hoping to find a repair shop capable of restoring this as best as possible, because like you, I find it is a great monitor to work and play on.

Thanks for the tips and help everyone, this thread has been surprisingly beneficial for me to participate in.

Well, so there's finally a flat television in my home.

good RGB to YUV (or more exactly to YPbPr) conversion is unnoticiable.
S-video is not YUV but YC, anc C is still limited by carrier bandwidth, and you still need tint/hue adjustments with NTSC. Add the fact that encoding imperfections are much more noticiable with console/computer graphics than with real life pictures.

Are there converters that can take a 480i signal and turn it into a 240p signal? Raspberry Pi composite output restricted to 480i, which looks terrible for retro games on a CRT television.

Even better, can I convert a HDMI signal to analog? Pi supports 240p over HDMI and the quality would be better if I could use that since the Pi's composite out seems to have a lot of noise.

I will treasure mine that has a mint AG film on it until the tube goes or replacing parts does nothing but my spares without the AG are totally usable and better in some areas (text). I prefer some sort of coating as it helps get the blacks even blacker.

That's normal. When you first turn it on everything looks super focused and slowly starts to blur as it warms up. You can crack open the back and adjust the horizontal and vertical focus on the flyback to get it looking much sharper. If you have never done so you will be very happy with the results.

Just gonna point out that if anything helps it'll be the contrast dial, not brightness. On CRT's the cobtrast dial controls intensity, and brightness controls the black level. Also it soubds like capacitors drying out to me.

240p analog is technically a 480i signal, it's just that the scanlines of the two fields are drawn on top of one another instead of properly interlaced. That's why the term "doublestrike" is sometimes used in emulation. Any downscaler would have to explicitly support this, not many do.

It's being driven at 3840x4080 with the tv-out+interlacing filter. The resolution is a catch-all resolution for scaling, and the shader scanlines 240p content (and can force 240p), and interlaces 480i content, while doing some colour correction.

That screenshot had the scanlines set to 50% brightness because it is a dark monitor, so here they are at regular brightness.
>>
>>3044510
Yes, but the odds of a HDMI to composite scaler doing 240p (NOT standard 480i which I was referring to) are slim. They are highly likely to just stretch to fit a 640x480 frame buffer, which is why 480i meant interlaced 480 lines.

240p has the same horizontal sync rate as 480i (approximately - in reality it jitters a little due to the interlaced timings if viewed on an oscilloscope), and just about any CRT that runs a flyback transformer outputting a 15khz sawtooth will display 480i or 240p, but it is not technically correct to say they are one and the same, due to the different timing on the hsync signal.

TL;DR I said what I meant and it is very unlikely that any hdmi to composite converter will use a 320x240 framebuffer, let alone 320x240 progressove timings.
>>
>>3044702
couple extra zeros there bud
>>
>>3044718
[more detail] the timings differ in that in 480i there's an extra delay the length of one hsync pulse before the guns begin drawing the field on the screen, so that the two fields do not overlap. this one-pulse offset is the difference between 240p and 480i and the reason why hsync from 480i does not appear as a stable and steady waveform on an oscilloscope, instead bouncing back and forth a tiny bit.
>>
>>3044731
maybenot, you need a lot if extra lines of resolution to emulate scanlines accurately, and a high DPI screen. Still not good enough for me though, I need a CRT.

I don't use a CRT for the scan lines - I use a CRT for the analog 4:3 stretching which inevitably looks horrible on a 96dpi LCD.

For a start, a PC CRT is second tier for MAME... but still awesome for current PC games IMO.

In terms of specs - 19"+ with ow dot pitch (<0.3mm) & high horizontal scan rate. Anything above 120kHz is great. Anything over about 90kHz is acceptable.

Something not too old that takes tandard VGA

In terms of the tube itself - that's it's nice and bright and not too worn. I have a PC monitor that has a high-impedance setting for the video lines, and activating that makes it bright enough to play on, but also produces noticeable ghosting that means you can't use it for anything *but* twitch gaming.

I am looking to pick up a new CRT, I found a Samsung TX-S2782H near me for $40, it sounds reasonable and I like that I like all of the video inputs, I will primarily use it for NES, SNES, PCE, Saturn, PS1, and PS2. Thoughts? Anyone familiar with this?

1. Some kind of flat screen trinitron.

2. Some kind of RGB or component.

3. Either original hardware or using a bandwidth limiting filter.

Even the shittiest CRT produces a better image for old consoles than the best LCD.
So it doesn't matter all that much if you just want to play the old games.

whats wrong with my picture?
>>

oh i thought those 2 were from the same anon

the first one i quoted looks fine but the second one eh im not really sure how to explain it
convergence is basically the pixels not lining up (i know crts dont have pixels just thats an easy way to explain it)

My 19" Smile KFC-2011 does 1600x1200@60Hz, but won't go any higher. Was rebadged by viewmaster and a few other companies.

There are probably other monitors of similar vintage with the same limits.

Convergence is the alignment of the three beams so that they only strike their intended phosphor. When convergence is off you will see red and/or blue fringing, most notably on white. While I see what anon is taking about in the second picture, the picture quality is too poor to tell if your convergence is actually bad. Pic related is used to check and adjust beam convergence.
>>
>>3046361
CRTs do have pixels, just not in the same sense as fixed pixel displays. CRTs group phosphor triads into logical pixels, whereas fixed pixel displays have a subpixel triads that comprise a physical pixel.

Pic related is from a 32FS120, big thick scanlines, great set for retro gaming. It can do 240p/480i over component, also got s-video and the standard composite and RF. You only get one set of component inputs and one s-video input though, so using a switch is recommended.

is this ANY GOOD? I don't have a CRT tv with component but I'm wondering if this RGB scart to composite will do the job.
>>
>>3047204
>CRTs group phosphor triads into logical pixels
Sure they do, champ.
>>
>>3047414
That does the opposite, it allows you to connect composite video into a scart socket. Useful for TVs that only had a Scart and a RF input and nothing else (pretty common in Europe).
>>
>>3047449
So you're saying I have to buy a different one? But what if I buy a RGB scart cable for a sega genesis, hook it up to that converter and plug in the composite cables into the tv? Would it work or no?

In theory....maybe

You'd need to:
a) - make sure the Genny to SCART cable was wired to carry composhit &/or s-video along with RGB.
b) - either buy a gender-reversed SCART cable or use a gender changer.
c) - be crazy

Why do you want to do this again? Is it only way of getting composhit out your Genny? Hint: [Spoiler]it isn't

What is the largest size of CRT PC monitor manufactured?

>>
>>3047513
And a new TV if it doesn't have component. Composite doesn't magically turn into RGB if you use a converter.

For one, it's not a converter, just an adapter.

And for two, no it wouldn't work.

For three, even if it did in fact somehow work, you'd just be getting normal composite out of the console and would be entirely better of just using a regular composite cable.

>>3047512
Exclusively PC monitor, or PC resolutions and more?

Mitsubishi obviously has it's AM-4201r, which will do TV resolutions as well as lower PC resolutions, with some of their later smaller stuff being a bit more capable. NEC has equally large sets (to the smaller ones) with similar capabilities.

I can't read moonrunes, but I believe this will display at least something in the 31khz range in some form. No idea exactly what though.
Pretty sure this is just about the largest functional CRT out there though, TV or otherwise.
RIP anon

>>3047512
CRT HDTVs are similar enough to PC CRTs, though not exactly a perfect replacement for them depending on what you're doing.

This will not get you use RGB anon,
it will just carry the composite signal and be exactly like just using the yellow rca cable. Do you have s-video? You'd be better off with that.

>>3047464
see previous answer
>>3047503
These options won't get you RGB.
>>3047526
This exactly, you need a scart cable for your console then one of three things:

1) a scart tv like in europe and a console scart cable
2) A scart splitter cable to BNC inputs on a professional monitor (PVM etc)
3) A scart cable, a rgb scart to component (the Red, green, blue cable) converter then component leads to your component capable tv (from what I understand the most ubiquitous higher quality signal standard in the US)

I never implied they would. Anon never explicitly stated that RGB was the intended application either, simply "would this work?" which I took to mean "can I pass a video signal through this hotchpotch abomination"

In future I'll just point them to RetroRGB and let them figure it out. I'm sick of spoonfeeding then getting chewed out for it.

How can I nicely get my Raspberry Pi into my CRT?

Do any modern games look good running at 240p on a crt? Gonna try out shovel knight later, and was hoping to get a few more recs
>>
>>3047238
Sweet. Awesome, thanks! I picked up the set, but had to move it to the basement for now as it's a lot wider than anticipated.

Not sure if you or anyone will know, but is it okay to tilt a CRT on its side during transport? It was the only way it could've gone through the basement doorway, so we had to tilt it on its side while moving it.
>>
>>3048039
It's fine.
>>
>>3048020
You probably are going to have hard time to get modern games running in such a low res. What's your setup?
>>
>>3048218
You can easily force it with crt_emudriver
>>
>>3048020
Not sure how you would force Shovel Knight into 240p. Most sets will just display it as a 480i signal.

I tried it using a Wii U hooked to my PVM via component. It was okay-ish. It suffered from not having a 4:3 display option.
