That's more a case of influences than plagiarism. Some songs do really sound alike however.
>>3347718
It's called the influence of living in the early 90s, specifically. I'm sure the majority of people who shit on Yuzo are young kids that have no idea what electronic music was actually like then, see the sample list and think "Wow, this guy's a hack!" He was simply doing what everybody else in the genre was doing to create that vibe.

In most cases I prefer Yuzo's versions. Especially without the awful vocals. His versions tend to emphasize the right things more and have a cleaner sound to some of it. It's a good demonstration of why people like chiptuning with limitations these days because it forces you to not just throw shit in and concentrate on what sounds you're doing. I mean I get that, sometimes I've made some songs and I've got a good riff, melody, or sound going but nothing really around it and so I kind of just toss stuff in around it largely haphazardly and see what sticks, sometimes it works okay sometimes it's shit. He took good concepts and style from pieces music and refined them into something great that was his own.
If anything I'd rather listen to remastered of yuzo's than the original influencing songs.
Wave 131 is great, I actually tried looking for more music like it before. Everybody Everybody has decent bassline, drums and good lead but as a whole the song ends up being kind of a forgettable disaster of a song.

the pitcher's mound elevator level only gets it half right. I do hear similarities to the public enemy song, but there's also the obvious "The Man Machine" melody ripoff (but it was probably only used for a hip hop track in SoR2 because of "Rockin" by The Fearless Four) But Yuzo added more contemporary hip hop sounds to it. It's actually brilliant.
Yuzo Koshiro - Too Deep https://youtu.be/Om8Z1mbZOZg
Kraftwerk - The Man Machine https://youtu.be/cQe9eK_4U0U
The Fearless Four - Rockin' It https://youtu.be/FSSpkrGBmu8
Go Straight is definitely supposed to be Good Life. The ballpark song definitely rips off that Shaman song. the ace of base one is plausible. the beach one is spot on.
but there's definitely ones where it's SoR2 tracks that sound like house music and the track it "rips off" is just house music that sounds like all other house music.

Ha ha, I found a random CD set years ago in a bed n' breakfast in rural Michigan called "DRIVIN' FUSION HITS" that had a lot of songs by T-Square and Matsuoka and more. I liked it so much (though so many songs were horribly cheesy) that I ripped the discs before leaving the place... I should have just stolen the set!
It's been next to impossible to find where the songs came from, since it seems like they renamed all the songs to stupid cheesy shit (e.g. Travelers is "I'LL TAKE MY TIME." Other gems include "WIND AND WAVE, WINE AND GLASS" and "ORIENTAL MAKIN' LOVE."). This is great to finally have a lead though.
Since we're on the Zelda topic, the music from the Snake form of Ganon (at least the first seconds of it) is obviously a reference to the Jaws theme:
