Does anyone know what the PCB of this looks like, exactly? I found a few pics online, but I'm not sure if they're the China versions. I want to get one and solder a DSP-1 chip from Pilotwings to it. I would also like to know what the proper orientation of the chip is. Thanks.

As far as I know there isn't much of a functionality difference. I can't say anything about the Snes version but when I tried a bootleg Genesis everdrive it bricked itself after 2 games.

Yes. There's a lot of arguing and a lot of misinformation circulating about the reliability of these but in short, yes. They work fine. Don't update, because newer firmware includes something to brick the chink clones.
The only real con I can say is that the printed 3d cartridge plastic isn't great, but if it stays in your snes, that should be too much of a bother.

Figured I'd ask since this seems like an alright topic to do so, but how does the SD2SNES's region patching work?
That is, if I load up the PAL version of The Firemen on my NTSC system, will everything be running at the correct speed as, lets say, the Japanese version? Likewise for something else for Terranigma (although that has a 60hz patch so that's not as big of a deal).

To somewhat answer my own question, the answer for the correct speed is "no". The Firemen PAL version ran somewhat faster than both the Japanese version and the US prototype. It seems the patching is just for protection chips, not speed.
