We still don't know the full scope of Alain's abilities as a trainer with a full team though as he favors using Charizard all the time, though seeing him battle with Metang, he is pretty much like Korrina andberserk Ash minus his unorthodox tacticsjust using strong attacks to overwhelm the opponent.

Yeah, no. Shota's a trainer who has been aping Ash's style since they met and got the wonderful idea of building a team to counter Ash's. Paul on the other hand had his own style, much more strategic to say the least, even before he copied Ash's Counter Shield for his own use.
