Aside from the fact OP's story is horseshit because the codes come off on till receipts at GAME, so they can't ever run out, I went in yesterday and discussed Pokémon with great enthusiasm with both of the assistants who were every bit as into it as me (one of which probably frequents this board). One of them was astounded that all four people in our household play Pokémon and told us the different ways he keeps things exciting playing with his housemates.
Joking apart, what do you expect? The people who work in video game shops grew up on Pokémon. Pokémon is cool. You aren't 13 anymore.
