Just a few questions; i've been lurking for a bit.
I love the hype with seeing new Pokemon, or even fakes. I remember when tepig's final was leaked and EVERYONE thought it was fake because of how "busy" and "stupid" it looked.
Why do you believe the owl and the other starters are obvious, plausible, or even exact proof? Especially the fire starter- which isn't any obvious animal at all?
From an artist standpoint; i feel sugimori can achieve much better, more interesting Pokemon. There are far too many inconsistencies in style. He is much better at illustrating ideas and animals than these creatures.
I DO love owl and dolphin; but i don't personally believe they're real guys.

I love seal/dolphin and owl too, and would like for them to be real, but I know that the chances of them being real are very, very slim. The only "evidence" to latch on to would be:

But those aren't very reassuring.
There was one "insider" on here that mostly everyone ignored that said the fire starter was a dog that acted like a cat. He even posted owl's evolutions. But most likely another bullshitting "leaker".

OP Here; i'm extremely suprised how soon nintendo has revealed there's another game coming out so soon. It feels genuinely very rushed.
Perhaps this is why the quality of these said starters look so "bad" compared to all other in the past?
As for quality; i do feel like the little seal and dolphin hold true; or the people who faked them understood the watercolour techniques sugimori uses.
The owl and fire dog/cat whatever (that speaks for itself) are not quality of being a pokemon. They just don't look well thought out, sculpted or interesting.
The fire and grass starters don't even imply they're part of their typing- where ALL other starters implied this.

On one hand, we have the Owlfags - they were probably nonbelievers during either Wottergate, Fairygate, or the Greninja and Hawlucha leaks, and they were wrong then. Now we have this, and they don't want to be wrong again, so they are on the side of the believers.
On the other hand, we have...the other side - they were probably believers during ORAS hype season, and they were wrong then. Like the Owlfags, they don't want to be wrong again, except this group is on the side of the nonbelievers.
At the end of it all, we can't be so certain which side is right this time until official sources hit, and anyone who tries to insist otherwise is just fishing for (You)s.And I don't blame them, it's fun as all hell.

If owl is fake, we will get to discuss what the starters might look like. And owlfags will be laughed at for a few hours before we focus on the actual silhouettes.

I remember when serperior was leaked and everyone thought it was fake as fuck because it looked so ridiculous and awful. It's grown on me- but i definately don't think it looks great.
Although owl is cute; i feel like he's on the same quality/standard level as serperior. Unfortunately red fire thing is even worse. It doesn't evoke a dog or a cat at ALL. (and what are its eyes doing even? Who is this trying to attract?)
I would be suprised if they were leaked and real- but at the same time, i'd be a little dissapointed. Not that i don't like them mostly; i just feel like they could do better than this.

I just can't see that being the fire type. Every Gen I have always picked the fire type, except for Gen 6 cause I hate delfoxes design. It just doesn't seem like a fire starter. They have always been based off an animal not an object. And you can't tell me it looks like a cat cause that shit is nowhere near a cat.
