Don't be fooled by idealism; democratic choosing of Megas would be even worse than what we have now.
Now: Charizard, Mewtwo, Banette, Camerupt, Charizard 2
Democratically: Charizard, Blaziken, Mewtwo, Charizard 2, Charizard 3, Charizard 4, Charizard 5Ok I was going to post better examples but all popular pokemon I could think of already have megas. Point is, right now popular + some forgottenmons. If ballot, then ONLY popularmons

spoiler:the Smash Ballot is the worst idea Nintendo has ever done and they probably learned their lesson and won't do it again for a long time

>Shrek
>Waluigi
>Pretty much every other joke character that got popular in the ballot
It was doomed from the beginning.

An interesting thing I read lately was that a few months ago, South Korea had an internet poll on the next Pokken character, and Pikachu Libre was the winner. A few months earlier Japan had a similar poll and Gengar was the winner.
So maybe they will make a similar poll for us in NA/Europe? We could try to force Hawlucha and one other random choice this way.

They could make a rule that only Pokemon that don't have a Mega Evolution yet are eglible to participate.

I wouldn't even be mad assuming it didn't look like shit like the other two
