A lot went down since last time. Wow.
I lost my fucking mightyena to a gyarados. It used thrash, I nearly lost my lombre, so I switched in to tank the next thrash. It crit, then it confused itself. I was so sure I would be fine to just take it down while it was confused. It used thrash again, THROUGH confusion, and crit AGAIN to kill him. fucking fish monster.
My replacement for Dioji happened to be a Swablu. This little guy is weak as shit but let me tell you, safeguard and attract are pretty okay moves.
The battle against Archie was terrifying, as his golbat was 2x against 4 of my mons, and one of the remaining 2 were underleveld. It was entirely Kipler who was able to just chuck rocks at the fucker for a victory.
Beauty the Dustox, who learned Light Screen just before the battle with Flannery, is my current MVP however. I was kind of worried about overheat being a 1 hit KO on a lot of my guys, since they aren't very defensive 'mons, so I made a huge gamble and lead with her. Light screen went up, and Flannery's entire team went to shit, they couldn't even hurt the bug type. A couple of rock throws and bulldozes later from cena and kipler and it was over, heat badge acquired.
I was worried this run would be entirely too easy but it continually scares the shit out of me.

Really, the question should be 'CAN I skip it'. Yeah, it's the first thing you'll find on the route, but that's because it's a forced encounter like the pidgey on route 2. You can't find anything else until you fight the snorlax/pidgey.
It's up to you. If you want to count it as your first encounter, you can. If you don't want to, that's fine too.

I've got options.
Goddamn it, I was getting ready to face Ramos in Y by training up Oz the Drifloon. My Fletchinder, who I was going to rely on to carry me past the grass gym, got raped by a Vespiquen with Power Gem (which I'm still salty as fuck about) in Reflection Cave so Oz was gonna be his replacement. I didn't realize how shitty his defensive stats were and I got cocky taking on a Miltank. One body slam later Oz is dead and the only mon' I have that has any super effective moves against grass is my Heracross with Arial Ace.
Now the only problem is that Ramos' Jumpluff knows Acrobatics which would destroy Heracross. So I lead off with Bertha my lvl 31 Gabite and start rock tomb'ing the mother fucker. Bertha can take two Acrobatics from this Jumpluff so I get off two rock tombs. Third turn we both use hyper potions and he leech seeds me the 4th turn. Well now Gabite can't take two Acrobatics with the chip damage and I have nothing else that can eat it to switch into. So I sat there for 12 more turns, using a hyper potion each turn, until that fucker ran out of PP for Acrobatics. Switched into Heracross after that and swept the rest.

My Fire Red Advanced run has fallen in dark, uneven way :( I'm training up a Lopunny (Normal/Fighting in this hack) and a Togekiss to replace the last two casualties (fuck Giovanni) but a lot of these were huge bros that left me too soon :(
The rest of the team is a Normal/Dragon Dunsparce, a Ground/Ghost Marowak, and an otherwise normal Charizard and Vaporeon. I'm training everyone to 52ish and heading to Seafoam!

Karate Chop almost always crits in gen 1. And a lot of moves are normal, like Gust. Brush up on that shit with gen 1, because every "high crit rate" move will basically crit, and fast pokemon crit a lot.

I'm personally a fan of HGSS, simply because of the sheer size of the campaign. Take extra rules though to balance out the abundance of routes.

Proctor fell in Victory Road, which I took in stride; being such a recent addition to the team, he burned like a supernova, gone as soon as he had appeared. I have risen Helen the Croagunk into a formidable Toxicroak, but I've just lost Ophelia, and I'm down a Ground/Ghost type now. These are my reserves, anyone have any thoughts on the replacement? Mounting my league challenge with these champions right here (Andronicus didn't really get a lot of buffing, its stats aren't awful but its movepool is still awful). I don't remember anything about the Elite 4, only that my rival has I think a Scolipede, a Lickilicky, and a Delphox. Otherwise this is a blind run for the gates, so I'm stocking up like hell on healing items.
For those curious, Helen is carrying PowerUpPunch, Sky Uppercut, Poison Jab and Earthquake, and Andronicus has a much more predictable Strength, Earthquake, Iron Head and Stealth Rocks setup.

The ditto is there because I thought it would be too cheap to just get a free high leveled pokémon.
The idea started in my silver run, where I really wanted a Larvitar, but the larvitars were low leveled so the ditto wasn't really necessary back then.

Pokemon Fire Red Advance is quite fun for a nuzlocke. Lots of variety, not too difficult and you don't need to grind for hours to beat the game.
Just got to Diftbeil city and I am about to fight the ground-base gym leader. This is literally the best team I got, ice is my worst nightmare. All are about level 35 give or take, except eevee lvl 18.
What should I do with my eevee?
