BW had the problem that Ash caught too many Pokemon and the writers weren't able to give them all a fair share of screentime and development. XY is pretty much BW in reverse now, with Greninja hogging all the screentime resulting in Ash's other Pokemon being neglected.

Your pet theory falls apart because the problem with BW was Ash getting a full fucking team plus more Pokemon in the span of a few fucking episodes, leaving the anime to struggle to juggle them and their personalities including that of Iris and Cilan's.
XY/Z had Ash took a long time to even get 5 pokemon and even shafted one to the swamps. The style of this season is to have Pokemon get development episodes back to back as seen with Goomy, Noibat, Eevee Squishy, and Greninja, which is no exception. However, in spite of this the others are not forgotten, most of the time (example Bunnelby before Eevee, Pancham, and Luxray), but Ash's team is immune to this as none of his Pokemon are neglected. We just had fucking Noivern and Hawlucha beat the shit out of that faggot Zapdos, and now an upcoming episode has Noivern fight Metang, I'm quite sure the others will fight against Shota's mons in the near future.
So your comparison with XY/Z is becoming BW is not only unfounded but also fucking retarded. I'm assuming you just have hateboner for Ash-Greninja getting many episodes or Noivern not getting a gym battle, which is fine, but your argument is still retarded.

There's literally been no explanation throughout the series as to why Ash is supposed to be closer and have a stronger bond with Greninja compared to his other Pokemon. He has gotten very gud, and he's now counter-strateging Ash HARD because he knows he can't win on skill alone.
Honestly, I want to see Shota win even once against Ash but this also means the biggest and most important moment for this to happen is on the league. That would be one major cockblock considering how fucking good Ash has been this season.
My ideal would be a 0-1 league semis or final match where they both fuck each other hardcore but Ash ultimately wins by almost nothing.

So I thought of something regarding the data broadcast, and I think this might be correct:
The data goes up to the next batch we're set to get, which we'll get when the next lottery contest period starts, and we know from the site the current one ends the 30th. However, there are 12 Thursdays in that period and we only got 9 broadcast Pokemon.
So what I think is that XY&Z23, 24 and 25 either just don't have a broadcast Pokemon, or that they got left out for some reason. Why? Because these are the Thursdays the Pokemon Election is running, and you can vote on that through the data broadcast, meaning there's additional data for those days that's not available yet.

I think it is endgame. I think this is either Ash's last saga or Serena is continuing into the next one. The writers were probably being cautious with Ash/Serena in early XY just in case the ship wasn't popular or it backfired for whatever reason, but once the writers saw how popular it was their doubts were removed and they went full force with it.
This is the last year of XY, why would they still be making so many large shipping episodes like the dance, Millefeui teasing in Master class, and the Pikachu episode if this was the end of the ship?

Am I the only one convinced Serena is sticking around? I think she can do off-screen training with her in the transition between sagas. It would be just like when Brock returned to Pewter Gym between Johto and AG, and didn't return till AG4. There was obviously a brief time gap there because it took Brock a while to return.
