Of all the bullshit league endings, that is the worst. Cameron is still a faggot and I hate him more than Hitler hated the Jews, but the Kanto League ending was still a bigger letdown for me. It was the first league we ever saw, we had been waiting for months for season 2 (good luck finding or understanding raws online back then) to air so we could see Ash battle Gary. Squirtle being considered knocked out because it fell asleep is worse than anything that happened during the Ash vs. Cameron battle. Sure, Ritchie's Pikachu probably would have KO'd Squirtle, leaving Charizard to refuse to battle it, resulting in the same ending, but at least it would have seemed less bullshit if Squirtle had actually fucking been defeated.
