We've known since DP that winning the league don't mean shit when it comes to matching up against the Elite 4/Champion.
Flint won the Sinnoh league at 11/12 and it took him 8 more years of hard training until the was good enough to join the ranks of Elite 4. 8 YEARS.
The E4 and Champion are so far ahead above any league winner that Ash winning a league would be ultimately inconsequential.

Man, Hawlucha and Talonflame might have type advantages over ice types, but they are SO overused when it comes to gym battles so they really should have sat this one.

The reason why Sceptile is so low down in the list is because they're counting all its losses as a Treecko in the Hoenn Gyms, even if it beat one pokemon before going down:
- Treecko lost to Roxanne
- Treecko lost to Brawl's Hariyama the first time, won the second
- Treecko lost to Flannery's pokemon but it took down at least one if I remember correctly
- Grovyle won at Norman
- Grovyle lost to Winona, I can't remember if it got a win or not
- Grovyle lost to Juan's Luvdisc (lol)
Also since Grovyle was used in almost all the Hoenn league matches, it of course has losses in all of them besides its wins.

So I finally got around to watching the Hoopa movie after being relatively spoiler free, aside from some previews
What I was expecting:

There were plenty of silly things that made my autism flare up, like Kyurem changing forms without Zekrom or Reshiram there, Kyogre flying around like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, completely unprovoked Mega Evolution, Braixen breathing mouth fire, and Primal Groudon sitting in a river without anything happening. But I enjoyed it all the same.
I had a good time watching it and that's what really matters.
