To be honest I'm surprised Jessie's Dustox lasted so long into DP. It was a rival to Beautifuly but once May left Beautifly at home after Hoenn, Dustox had no real point.

Well the kid in me sees how mega evolutions are the coolest shit ever. Allowing many pokemon to fight at whole new levels of skill. A lot of attacks have more power and flare in mega form. Very easily pleasing my shonen battle lust I got from dbz at that age.
The adult in me sees how they clearly jumped the shark with this new feature of pokemon. Only a select few getting it from which they could come up with the design in the 1st place. Some pokemon clearly only made mega for show for example mega absol. Who had to Job to mega Zard, because reasons. The pokemon only showed up twice in these series and both times was to make its oppenent look good. I digress. It's left my adult side wanting more meaningful fights.

Definitely the best of the anime ever so far. Hoping ash has a good league and good resolution with the gang.
