Seriously though I know we have Zigzagoon but I immediately thought of a tanuki when I saw it. How can we REALLY be sure it's a red panda?

I don't know about the Red Panda thing, but it's certainly a mascot and there are some definite maid influences with the head gear and the colouration... And the hugs and awkwardness. It's straight out of a Pamyu Pamyu music video.

Pretty sure they slapped some red panda in there to offset it's size for the cute effect, otherwise the idea of cute mascot that's overwhelmingly huge and lumbering towards you wouldn't work...

It's not a tanuki though, doesn't really look like one at all. I can see where you may have gotten it from, though. Still a better assumption than a lot of the shitposters I've seen have come up with.
