Legendary pokemon should pop up at particularly active areas and there should only be one of them appearing in a specific spot at any given time. Not like, only one ever, but there shouldn't be a Zapdos in two places at the same time.
That, or I think it would be cool if they popped up in random lures, and turn them into a gym type event where you beat it to make it appear. And they should be hard as fuck, requiring multiple people.

Wild theory: They won't update with Gen 2 immediately. They'll update with Gen 7, as a tie-in with SM. If they can figure out a way to allow people to transfer Pokemon back and forth between Go and SM, it could literally double SM's sales.
The smartest thing for them to do would be a major update in October, adding live PvP, trading, etc., as well as 30-50 Gen 7 Pokemon (not all of them, got to leave some for the actual game!). They'd get back players who got sick of it because of the gameplay upgrades, and and a decent amount of them would want to try out their new Pokemon in the new games.

My cp260 Pidgeotto held it for just over 10 minutes, which seems to be about the average that I've seen (and I was shocked it lasted that long, considering its relatively low cp). My gym in Rockefeller Center lasted about 3 minutes.

Honestly, I still don't buy it. There are too many people playing this game who just go with "which color do I like best" (myself included) who just don't care about the descriptions. People here are posting stuff like "blue is the best at planning," "red has the strongest Pokemon," etc., and I just don't think it's possible for there to actually be any pattern to it. Sure, you can cite individual stories that fit the pattern, but that's meaningless in the large picture.

Download FakeGPS
Download LuckyPatcher
Download KingRoot
Root with KingRoot (Scroll to bottom, click the last option then hit "Fix", close the program)
Open LuckyPatcher, Use the "Rebuild and Install" option to install the FakeGPS app as a System App
Open LuckyPatcher after Reboot, Hit search then go to the top left and hit filters, hit the option for System Apps
Open FakeGPS, go into the top right settings, enable them all
Select a position you want to be, then hit the play button in the bottom right.
Load up Pokemon GO, login and whenever you want to move, pull the android bar down from the top of the app, hit the FakeGPS notification then drag the pin to a new position and hit the play button again.
