i dont want to get a rare spawn like dragonite untill im high level, since its useless. As the game stands now, there is zero reason to find rare pokemon since you can mass evolve pidgy for higher CP mons..

From what i have witnessed they are not actually random, i consistently see the same pokemon in the same areas. For example the magmar i got the first time was around 400 at a park near me. So i went and got all my friends and we went to the same park and we all got magmars. then again on the next day. Similarly with eve's and chanseys. It definitely spawns a lot of pokemon in the same area over and over. The way we found the dragonite was by crusing by a gym that had one in it.

Does anyone know if candies have increasing returns on low cp mons? So if I'm, say, level 15, and I use a Caterpillar candy on a Butterfree that's low cp, does the cp increase significantly, and then slow down on subsequent uses?

Yo, check it out. You see that half circle with the dot around yur pokemon? That is the 'CP meter' of the pokemon. Depending on trainer level determines what the max CP for that pokemon is. When you evolve, the CP meter does not move (Pic related) but the max CP on the next evolution pokemon is higher.

I caught three Electabuzz and three Exeggcute this morning just from driving near a public park. Walking around was pointless, since I couldn't encounter the Pokemon fast enough. The game needs to make it easier to acquire incense so you can catch decent stuff when you're not near a Pokestop. It seems like once you get above a certain level, they stop appearing randomly.

as of now being level 15 i dont power up any pokemon that doesn't require at least 2 candies per power up because i can just catch one that starts that high naturally. save your candies for evolutions so you can level up your trainer instead.
