No you actually have to move, it doesn't count your steps, it tracks the distance your phone is travelling from point A to point B. It also tracks your speed and anything over around 20km/h won't count toward accumulating distance for your eggs.

A goddamn eevee to begin with. Then I'll see. I saw at least 4 of them but no way to get close to them. Sometimes idk the footprints don't move at all despite the fact that I'm moving around, and it's not all the time either. It's kind of annoying to miss my favorite pokemon family so often just because of this.
By the way, my music players just DON'T want to stay on if I launch Go. I know it's the case for, say, spotify. I personally use Meridian media player but it stops every single time. Do someone know a player that works, at least for them, in order to check if it's a player or a phone/ram problem (which would be quite strange) or something? For some reason it seems I don't even have the stock android player anymore; that or I forgot its name.
