Is there a power creep in Pokemon?
If so, how do we fix it?
People will only buy the new game if it has new pokemon because lord knows innovation isn't going to happen.
People will get mad if the new pokemon are worse than the old ones.
Therefore the answer to your question is: it can't be fixed.
Yes

Yes. Anybody who says otherwise is delusional or lying.

GF could actively nerf things. They nerfed several moves in gen 6 and they also tweaked some mons stats, so while they only added some to those mons, it shows they might be willing to alter their stats downward. So they could just manually nake things weaker.
But that won't happen, they'll keep pushing forward with stronger and stronger mons.

No shit there is powercreep. Mostly when it comes to speed tiers. Keldeo is the bare minimum for a sweeper now

Yes and no. Most bst are still around the same in every gen. You have the shitmons with low bst, the usable stuff with average stats but great abilities, and the overused stuff that are blessed with stats and useful abilities. The main power creep comes from abilities and mega evolution. -ate abilities for example give around +45 free bst worth of damage increase.

This. The players, and board warriors especially, have no power to change these things.
